A quick question, and forgive me if it comes off as noobish. Regarding the plate, will the acrylic plates allow for the switches to be customized without doing any additional soldering, or will that only be possible with the steel plate? Also will the steel plate be visible in a top/bottom translucent acrylic setup?

As you can see on the form, there are 4 types of acrylic plate and 1 universal(all combos of layout is possible) steel plate. Sorry I don't get "allow for the switches to be customized without doing any additional soldering" But you can solder switches as you want as long as the plate allows. The steel plate is might be semitransparently(?) visible through the translucent TOP :)

Any more colour options for the top acrylic piece?
Sorry but no options.

When is the actual dead line?

30th or 21st?

21th.

Do I have to solder on the RGB case led?

No, you don't have to. RGB will be soldered. All you need to solder is switches & switch side LEDs(only if you want to)

Hi Leeku. I would really want to know when this would ship out. ;)
I assume the basic kit will go out sooner than the aluminum skin? But still, when?

Technically? Possible. For GB cost, however, I should gather 50 set at least. You can get the boards by this year but it will be sooner hopefully.
Sooner hopefully!  ;D

If I'm in, I will get the basic kit, because I have TX1800 coming 'soon'...

Hi Leeku. How about Assembly Service in google form, can you explain more?

It 's like basic assembly with gatron black(60g linear) switch. I can tell the the gatron feels good enough only with the factory lube.I will tune the stabilzer of course. So, you will receive a keyboard without LED(on the switch) and cpas. The bottom RGB will be glow and you can use immediatly. It cost 80$ totall including all the matirials.
If you need any other special option like lube or LED jobs on the switch please comment on the form. I will send proper invoice if I can do that.

Invoice paid! Just wanted to make sure, can we use only aluminum top? e.g. Layer 1: Alu, Layer 2: Acrylic, Layer 3: Arylic

Also how hard is it to swap top layers?

Tops are easily switchable. Just un screw and change.

12/19 ship
is the plan.

That makes no sense...

1800 is a specific layout, same as TKL. This keyboard would look extremely odd with the numpad just missing and the arrow cluster sticking out.

With the TX1800 delay, I cannot express how psyched I am about this buy.
Had to get one of each top and bottom so I can obsessively swap them around to compare which looks coolest.

That makes me thing of one question I have.
Does this come with black screws or silver screws?  I can see both in the pictures.
Does it vary by which top you buy?  What if you are insane and buy them all?

EDIT: OK, I somehow missed a post on the previous page that said the screws match the top you get, so I'm assuming if you get all the tops, you get a set of screws for each.
Also, if I forgot to add stabs to me order, can I still do so?  I've not been billed yet, but I didn't want to confuse things by submitting the order again.

Thanks for the great buy!

you mind providing the diameter of the through holes for the switches as well as thickness of the pcb?

And say this is my order I would pay, Total 60 + 10 + 30 + 10 + 10 + 25  = 145 USD correct? And are there options to include the stabilizers and indicator led separately without assembly?

If you say yes than I'm 100% in.

You would have to send him the switches, he ordered a lot of the linear gaterons from a gb which is why it's offered, if there is any switch save vintage Browns I can help you find them

I believe he is charging $10 for stabilizers because he isn't like completely stocked on them, indicator leds can be left out, do you mean he includes the leds without assembling them?

This looks awesome and the price is right, but I'm struggling to get my head round a usable layout while compressing the 9 nav keys into 5.

Is the firmware compatible with spaceFN?  Putting PgUp/Down and Home/End on the arrows could make it perfect.  That or I could use an ANSI enter and a right shift to make an ISO+Split, but the profile and legends wouldn't be perfect...

You can mod(remap) the key layout whatever you want.
Currently, I use the 1.25x key in the bottom middle as a FN then map "f v" for home end "g b" for pageup and down. It's extremely comfortable but yes the three keys instead of space bar might look odd

Its just for work. I used blacks for a year and now type on browns. I find MX blacks a bit heavy. Honestly the MX blacks in my Steel Series feel more like 80g and my fingers get tired.

I have read that the 60g stock Gateron switchers are a lot lighter than MX so I'm OK with that. Also could I pay extra to get the switches lubed and have in-switch LEDs? does the board even support in-switch leds?

So for all the questions.  ;D

you mind providing the diameter of the through holes for the switches as well as thickness of the pcb?

And say this is my order I would pay, Total 60 + 10 + 30 + 10 + 10 + 25  = 145 USD correct? And are there options to include the stabilizers and indicator led separately without assembly?
1. PCB (60)
2. TOP - b. black Acrylic (10)
3. MIDDLE (30)
4. BOTTOM - a. translucent Acrylic (10)
5. b. Acrylic (ANSI+6.25/7x) : 10
Shipping 25

I believe he is charging $10 for stabilizers because he isn't like completely stocked on them, indicator leds can be left out, do you mean he includes the leds without assembling them?

I don't have enough LEDs and stabilizers. I can buy some stabs then send you guys just for your convinience. But LEDs are too bothering to sort each colors. Sorry about that.
For the through hole and PCB, it follows cherry recommendation. 1.6mm thickness and 4mm diameter. Thanks

okay thanks, where on the form do we indicate that we want a set of stabs?

Just command on "(Optional) Assembly Service 80"

okay, will do thanks.  Do you think something like this will fit in the switch through hole http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/8134-HC-8P3/A114359-ND/1151726?
I'm looking for a build to test hot swapable switches on.
