Keyboard of the month - March - Vote
« on: Sun, 09 April 2017, 16:00:25 »
Happy Sunday everybody, and welcome to March's Keyboard of the Month competition!

We have a great selection of boards for you to vote on this month, with a completely custom Korean board, a heavily modded topre creation, and a ground up mini build!

First of all is nathanrosspowell's TX1800 with Zealios, OG DE Cherry, HADapter, GMK 9009 and GMK Classic Retro

The full album can be found here

Next is PerniciousPony's Realforce 84U with Realforce 91UB case, Realforce 86UW plate and PCB, Realforce 87UB 45g domes and springs, Novatouch sliders and GMK Stormtrooper! (whew!)

Discussion thread and a small album can be found here

Finally we have Felion's Likör47, with handmade lid/wrist rest, custom ISO based layout, lasercut custom chassis and Vintage MX blacks, all controlled with a Teensy 2.0.

A full build log and album can be found here!

As always the poll will last seven days, and good luck to all our nominees!
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Votered, although this one took a while to decide.

Great to see such quality keyboards coming around :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Easy choice for me this month. Whilst the other two are impressive, I can't stray away from it.

Congrats Felion!

Not a huge surprise, really.

Congrats Felion!

Not a huge surprise, really.

I thought it would be closer than this given how great the TX1800 and RF look but I'd say I'm not surprised that Felion's board won.

I'm glad GH has a habit of choosing the fully custom projects over the nice looking kits.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Congratulations Felion! A great build with a lot of thought behind it, well deserved! Commiserations to Pernicious and Nathan, but three fantastic boards this month.

Thanks to everyone for voting, the next nomination thread will go up in around a week's time.
