Mob mentality indeed! xD.
I actually have no clue what I am going to do with these. I wonder if my wife wants to take some pictures with key caps. (She reads the forums, so let's hope she sees this)

jdcarpe, I think someone ordered 100 of the H&S =p.

RBV FTW! I rescind my RA vote. RBV IS A GO!

If it's between RR and RA, definitely RA.
But I like RBV :D

So I'm looking at the colors now and I think RBV may be too dark.  I made two mockups to match to the best of my ability RA vs RBV

Well, if you point it out that way, RBV really seems too dark. RA would be suited better.

I like the contrast that RBV gives it. That's still my vote (or 100 votes).

But the RA from your mockup is almost an exact match to the actual flag color (at least the one that's on Wikipedia). RBV will match the modifiers on the Red Alert Round 2 set I'm ordering. So either way, I win!

I think matching other keys on our keyboards should take priority over historical accuracy.

Wait, which one is the color that will match the other sets? I'm confused now.  I thought it was RBV...is it RA?  Crap, well which ever color is the one that will match the other group buy novelty keys/sets already made gets my vote.

If it's between RA and RR then my votes goes for RA as RR is way too orange.  But if it's between RBV, RR, and RA, then I'm voting RBV because I'm a selfish bastard and I want my novelty keys to match the red alert set I've ordered.

Red Alert will be RBV.  Even though I am ordering a Red Alert set too, I am still leaning towards RA since it is the right color for the concept.  This is a tough one...

Just pull the trigger on RBV. You won't regret it. Of the few people who care enough about it to post an opinion, I think most would rather have the keys color match the Red Alert set. One of these days when I run a GB, maybe I will make a YCH on RBV set, I need to think about it and get creative.

I want my RA*!!!!

Who cares about how it goes with other keys, most of us will probably change their keycaps in two month again either way. So at least we could try to get the color of the flag.

If we are able to use the full palette of color of SP, why would we restrict ourselves just so we have always the same colors.

This group buy is about an hammer & sickle keycap, not an escape key for the red alert set.

^ I changed my mind and agree (not that anyone cares what I think). I would think most people would NOT use these with the Red Alerts set (I won't) and that a closer match to the actualy colors is more important.

Awww, but you said I should decide. Now I'm hurt.

I believe the reason RBV was picked for the original Red Alert set and is now recommended for novelty keys is that RA is just too damn bright. Same reason we are using WFK for the white Pi keys, and not WA.

absolutely right! I would be a bit disappointed if the colors doesn't match the original colors of the flag... the mockup in OP suggested that it will be near to the original (I know there's no real original, but there's no one with the darker red of rgv, it's always a bright red)
With the rgv it looks like something went wrong with the color.

But thats only my opinion...

The decision has been made. RA

Sorry matchers, I totally understand the point, but everyone who bought, did it with the assumption that it would look similar to the mockup, and RBV is significantly darker.
