Speaking of extras, does that include the icon mod pack? Kind of regretting not picking it up when I grabbed a base kit.

500 MOQ has indeed been hit, and yes there will be extras :)  :thumb:

Has anyone received $5 refund (or whatever amount) for 500 MoQ.
I don't think I've seen mine.  Ordered from Dixie Mech.

Have those refunds already been sent out? It has been a while now.

Hey all

Sorry for not posting here for so long, I wanted to hold off on an update until I got a concrete updated shipping date from GMK to avoid confusion. However, it's really been long now. Current status of the set is that we still haven't received the colour samples from GMK because of delays with GMK's plastic supplier. At this point it seems very likely that even if the first round of samples are on point that we won't be hitting the January shipping date. I don't have a confirmed updated shipping date yet, but have asked GMK for one. Will post it here as soon as I have more info.

Alright so seems like issues are finally starting to be flattened out, the samples have been shipped out! They did not include the original Pantone plastic chips I sent em since they said the plastic company kept them, but after explaining how important it is to have something physical to compare colours to (instead of just an idea or renders on a monitor) GMK said they will retrieve the Pantone chips and ship those out separately. Because of the delays with the plastic supplier, production has been set back about a month (so late January to early February).

I will of course post pictures of the samples as soon as I get them!

Hey guys!

Just got the samples in!!!

Compared to normal Dolch colours:

The grays look really good, but I feel like the cyan and red both need some tweaking. The cyan looks a bit too green to me and the red a bit too dull. What do you think?

It doesn't look like there's much contrast between the grays.

Agreed that the red is too dull.

Oh my, I love these samples.

Grays look wonderful, but the contrast does seem a little low. The original rendering had the darker gray as a little darker than what was produced. That being said, only two keys are shown so it might appear more contrast-y when more keys are next to each other in a full layout.

The cyan does look like it could use a little more cyan. It's kinda a light seafoam green right now.

I agree the red could pop a little more.

I broadly agree with the feedback so far. The darker grey could possibly be a touch darker, if we're comparing to renders. And the accents both need to be a little more saturated, with a little more blue in the cyan. I actually like all the colours you've got there, but yeah, it needs tweaking to match the renders. Good luck!

Tried to colour correct a bit better since the previous image was a bit overexposed.

As for too low contrast, I'm not really sure about that. In some renders there def was a bit more contrast than in others but just like taking a picture IRL, colours in renders are very depended on the lighting and editing used. Considering the GMK samples match the chosen Pantones colours really well, and I used the official Pantone colour codes for the renders I think they're pretty good as they are.

However, I will look into sending some samples to some people to get some second opinions on this.

I actually really like the greys as they are, as well as the red which is perfect to me like this. I agree with the cyan could have a bit more blue in it, but it's pretty good like this already.

This image does not convey contrast between the grey very well.

That newly corrected image looks way better when it comes to the contrast. I use photoshop for my job and it's a pain in the ass to make things match real life. If it matches the pantone then I trust it. Thank you for your diligence!

First, thank you for this. It's really nice to see, rather than GB participants blindly trusting a vision or being dismissed as color experts.

Tried to colour correct a bit better since the previous image was a bit overexposed.

The contrast in grays did look a little low in the first picture, but the color corrected picture looks much better. I agree with you and others here regarding the accents. Just some slight tweaking and I think they'll hit the target.

Thanks for your hard work - really excited for this!

Personally, I think the samples look great but I also trust your decision since you can see them in person.

Here is how I am comparing my expectation from the set:

From this image, I think the grays and red samples look spot-on. The teal seems to be a bit softer but I don't mind it at all.
Any thoughts?
