Seriously though, can't be catering to non standard stuff or it will spiral out of control and all reason. I really want to keep this sane, and affordable most importantly. So I think we should only stick to the most common set, the ANSI 87 base kit, plus the general idea for the add on alternate keys give or take a couple.

Not a terrible idea, but I don't really want to add any specific movie, game or what have you novelty keys to this. Any ideas for general Miami related things may be considered though.

I'm not sure if you're planning to use the standard text or a custom one for the key, but this text is pretty accurate to the style commonly used:



Ocean Drive can be done in the same front. Miami, Flamingo, South Beach and Ocean Drive keys will complete the theme nicely.

You can add this in the middle to split the text or header/footer for either the SOBE or Ocean Dr. key, like you tried to do with the line:



If you can find the text in your photo, slightly bolder text and rotate it like the Miami key, you have a winner.
If you can use the text in the photo I posted, I think it will give the key more style IMO.

Realized what was bothering me... the Hs were not lined up, and I reduced the line weight. Looks better, and almost identical to the sign now. Thought about a palm, but one simplified enough to do as a 2shot that actually looks good, I have not.

Lysol, I think you should throw up a poll for what base layout is best. I think a few of us quite like the extra pink that was included in my first rendition of your kit. = 3 Maybe have the addon include most of the pink keys I had in my set?

Hey whatever... I was just trying to keep the price low by not having a whole ton of extra keys. Maybe we can do that instead of all the additional gamer, and just reduce that to an extra wasd? If you all want to add the extra pink keys for the oldschool thing as alternates, fine.
Probably should not do any other extra special keys either. Miami and flamingo key to represent the set is probably good. I really would like to try HARD to keep this at $65ish per set or less, assuming we can even get to the 50 mark.

Well I think you may want to consider compromising the base kit to have more of the pink keys. I really think you should poll that. I dunno I liked the alternating color for the Function keys quite a bit. and the ones that make the extra side bits more pink (enter/backspace/tab). But I'll shut up if others disagree.

Yeah, that sounds good. I'm just not very sure about the people who do want to keep the mod/shift/etc keys from the base set. I mean it's not very "miami themed" or pretty when you just look at the base set. Which is why I'm suggesting a change to the base set. I quite like the "gamer" bits myself ><

Yes I see what you're saying... I guess I should explain why I don't like it personally. I think the oldschool looks great on the 61 key main block, alternating f keys are fine... I do NOT like the solid mass of pink on the right. I know a few others also said so much pink felt overwhelming. This is why I like to keep the option.

Oh, that's my problem... I like pink so I automatically defaulted the right hand side stuff to pink. I think they'd be fine in teal.

I'm mainly argueing that the base should have the pink ctrl/alt/win/enter/shift/caps/tab(/Backspace)/ Some of which are already in the addon part. But I reckon that enough people will like those keys to be part of base. Since it's the kinda general way of laying out colors that you see in other sets. Arrow keys maybe in pink, if we can squeeze it in?

I like the base set all teal keys w/pink letters and add-ons should be as follows

Add-ons:
1 pink Esc
function f5-f8, top of home cluster pink
Pink backspace, both shifts, tab, caps lock, and of course the ctrl alt and win keys
+ the gamer kit

This would probably cost a fortune though. Although that is how RED ALERT was done I think they had like 170keys in that set

It is a tough call for me. If we can reach 50 sets, a custom color might not be so much of a dent on the bank accounts... raising the per set price to around $75. It could be worth the extra $10 per set to not have such a sucky pink.
I am trying to keep the price as low as possible, while still giving a decent set of options. The way SP works is sort of counter intuitive as more keys do have a possibility of lowing the price, depending.

If we want we can do it, make the base set like lysol's latest base create the pink needed at SP  and a smaller addon aka maybe the windows keys with flamangos and wasd.

I say let's see how many people are willing to buy the set ( excel sheet ) and then we can see if we can afford the new pink ( pretty sure we can ).

I don't think we can justify the custom pink atm.

Atm numbers look low, but keep the IC up and tally em up. If we can get a good number we can start considering more options.

I just took a rough count, based on positive reactions from each unique member that has posted in this thread and arrived at 17... based on the assumption of 1 set per person. We currently do not even have enough to make this remotely viable at base rates with no custom stuff.

Well it's only been three days. If you can give it until mid March, maybe we can get it done.

Remember, the Red and Black DS thread is hot right now, and maybe this needs to wait until that's over on 2/29 to gain more interest.
I think this has to run into March to catch steam. You can also try adding on a Phantom kit, that greatly helped that GB also.

IMO, this is too good to cancel. I'll pay the 30 set price.

I have no intention on cancelling, I do intend on giving it some time, just saying current count. I didn't have expectations for this being a massive buy going in, colorway definitely won't appeal to everyone. 30 sets might even be a hard push, just on GH.
