You'll want to call out whether the Caps Lock is stepped or not for the AT101/AT101W plates. If they are stepped then vintage caps will fit, however the Alpine Winter and any future SP caps will not.
I personally don't own an LZ board, but it's great to see more Alps custom love! :thumb:
If this GB only came with PCB and Plate only, then where can I get the case compatible with this PCB?You could search for LZ tkl board

I don't think that's the problem. I just want to be clear about case compatibility, since OP mentioned that this PCB (and Plate) is compatible with all TKL cases, including Varmilo TKL Aluminium cases, TEX/Filco ONI TKL cases?
Does this support the LZ-SE 84?
For clarity, no LZ case is a part of the buy? That would need to be sourced separately by the buyer correct?Yes, no case are being offered in this GB :thumb:

Do you even read the post thoroughly bro?
One question: Are the controller parts came pre-soldered? Thanks.
Let me check, but im 90% sure controller parts come presoldered.Nice :thumb:
So I'm interested if I can get a case... Where does one source a case? Do you have to buy a used one from someone who already has one or will LZ make a new batch? If the latter then I'll join. The former and I'm not interested.

 Just saw this buy now.
Very intriguing. :D I'm certainly not the biggest Alps fan out there, but I've been rather disappointed with the feel of the MX Blues I have in my LZ-GH - having the option to swap out the PCB/plate with a drop-in solution like this is great, and will give me some motivation to try "high-end" Alps switches. ;)
It looks like the PCB supports 90 degree rotated switches in the F-row to accommodate AEKII keycaps - correct? If so, I will likely place an order. :)

make sure you get more than one kit. I had enough brown alps for my Duck Orion V2, but I used blue alps cause Hype. Was a mistake. I am now back to square one. Try those switches if you can first!

I ordered. :D I think I butchered the form though. I put my entire address in the 'address' section, because I didn't see a section for 'city'. It should be easy to figure out though. Let me know if you have any questions or want to reprimand me for my stupidity. :P

Oops. :-[
Added. But I also switched from 2 kits to 1 kit. :( Sorry, but after some more thought I just can't justify having three PCBs for the same board. :|
I know very little about Alps, which of the above keyboards is easiest to source switches, keycaps from? You mean the easiest alps switches to get right? Well, the easiest one is getting matias switches. Or if you want some OG stuff you could get salmon alps for tactile switches that can be sourced from AEK 2. I think that is the easiest alps SKCM switches to get and salmon alps is really good and some users said that they feel like an ergo clear with actuation points on top.
Hi all~!Thank you for all the work LZ!
alps plate 3 type for LZ tkl series(without LZ-R)

Like I said, I'd buy in if there was a compatible case available to buy with it, but there isn't (and the Ironman case isn't compatible either according to LZ).

Budget and lack of a case is holding me back. Plus, I might be falling out of love with Alps. (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=80354.0)
Is there a list of all LZ TKL boards that exist? Im generally not a fan of the look on most LZ boards but if i can find one i like ill probably join and find a case at a later time. Dell AT101 old layout for the win :thumb:

Awesome list thanks :D LZ S looks so good. Its because of the screw on the plate
Theres someone selling a LZ R but in the OP it says its not compatible. What part on it causes the incompatibility? Would modding maybe make it work?
Can't you like both? I even use my Browns from time to time:)
I can understand its hard to justify if your case less =(

I've got a Realforce coming in today, courtesy of Axtran, so I'll finally be able to compare Alps SKCM Brown and Alps SKCM Neon Green (Lime, or whatever) to Topre as so many make comparisons there.
I don't think I could ever give up on Alps though, because I love the switches for more than just their feel. The history of Alps and their design in general just charms the hell out if me.
give alps another chance pls

Eh, I guess it's not surprising to anyone that knows my preferences, but I tried some Topre finally, and I definitely don't prefer it over Alps. You should embrace the oneness with cup rubber bro :p
Alps SKCM Brown and Alps SKCM Neon Green definitely feel like very close equivalents, kind of like a mechanical Topre switch (clacky bottoming out as opposed to the rubbery thock of Topre).

Oh, someday I'll totally drop some cash on making a fun custom Topre rig or something, since I admire all the customization people put in to Topre stuff! I just don't think it's my favorite kind of switch is all. They are incredibly smooth, but they don't have that separation that I feel with mechanical compared to anything made from rubber. I know I'd get slayed for this comment, lol.
They are very nice though. :) I guess I've just sold my soul to Alps. :P
I tried Topre last year at a meetup and I was highly unimpressed. All the better too, don't have to pay a giant price premium on it.

I think topre is something that kinda grows on you the more you use it. You can't just judge it by typing on it a few times. When I first got it I was like meh, but as I used it for a few weeks it really grew on my and became my main board for two years. Anywho, back on topic: I would have jumped on this immediately but I'm having a hard time finding a board/case that would fit. :(
People of the realm of geekhack, if you are lurking around and have not yet decided, you better do it soon or this won't happen.

I'd order 2 if I could just get the PCB, since I have 3 bottoms for my Orion v2. I plan on having two tops built out of acrylic and getting some plates done so I can have all of them go into separate boards.Yes you can just buy the PCB cause the moq is 18 pcb and 10 plates :thumb:
But there's really no need for me to buy it with the LZ plate. It'd be, like, impossible for me to sell JUST an Alps plate to someone unless, on the off chance, they really wanted to handwire a TKL Alps board or had a PCB of their own, but no plate, which is even less likely.

Done. I'm down for two PCBs. Specified in the form that I only wish to order two PCBs without any plates and that Mr. Bocahgundul said it was fine to do so. :P

Done. Now, do the RGB LEDs not come presoldered onto the PCB in this case? They did with the Orion v2. I ask because of the RGB LED option.

Would it be still possible to get a PCB/Plate combo? I'm a little late, but depending on other things (Orion V2) I might need the PCB/Plate to make it ALPS compatible.

These plates are only for LZ boards, good sir. So you'd have to order only a PCB and get a plate made.
I can't seem to get anyone to share files for the Alps plate on the Orion v2, so you might have to design it yourself. There's also the Kingsaver to consider if anyone's selling.

I don't have a picture, but no diodes were in the box. Nothing soldered on the PCB either.
