Hello everyone. After the success of the two Fallout GB's, and to commemorate the release (not sure when) of the new Firefly Online cross-platform game, I have decided to try my hand at an initial novelty keycap venture into the 'Verse. First two ideas, better mockups coming soon, will be Malcolm Reynolds' signature sidearm and the Chinese characters that spell Serenity.


This is the basic gist of what I want to accomplish, but I have to tweak it to make it doubleshootable (the part I hate).

Whether you are a Browncoat, Bounty Hunter, or Purple Belly, this is the time to share your ideas if you have any. I will be planning for future Series sets based on any and all ideas, so let them flow.

Any ideas for colorways?  Will you try to match an existing set or make a standalone cap?  I will likely be interested in this.   :thumb:

Brown Keycap with White legend on the Mal Cap...

Yellow keycap with Orange Chinese for Serenity...

Sounds awesome. Seems like you could theoretically do a full keyset based on either of these color schemes though.

How about a Brown cap with a yellow-ish 'f' from the script 'firefly' from the TV title screen.



I can do a mockup if it sounds interesting.

Cool idea

Here's a mockup...had to fatten the 'f' up a bit to meet the custom legend requirements.

What about canary yellow text on green for the alphas, and lime green on a shade of blue for the alphas.

Seriously, though, when designing Firefly-inspired keycaps, you have to at least consider Jayne's hat.


What about a function key with the legend "YoSaffBridge"?

Or a backspace key with the legend "I'll be in my bunk"?

Maybe something with the Blue Sun logo would be nice.

This mockup looks really good man. Another cool cap could just show the ship Serenity with a brown background (browncoats).
