Hey all!  Melvang and I are checking to see if anyone would be interested in our smoked Italian three cheese blend.  Melvang will be checking into shipping tomorrow, sorry US shipping only.  Packaging will include being shipped frozen with a few paper towels for insulation in bubble mailers over night.

Sounds delish.

Too bad it's US-only, but I understand the issues with shipping elsewhere.

I would love to do this, but I will be out of the country Jan 23 to July 10.  What is your projected timeframe?  Are you the Significant Other of Melvang?  If so, how do you withstand his awesomeness on a daily basis?

Since this is such a long time out of country, I will make an exception.  Cost will be $5 + shipping + PayPal fees.  These will ship via overnight in a bubble mailer.  I will be checking with the post office tomorrow on actual shipping costs and will pm you tomorrow if that is cool.  Actual quantity is 1/3 cup of a roughly even blend of parmesan, reggiano, and Romano, all were smoked, grated, and mixed by me.  This is not my personal cheese, I buy the cheese and run it through my smoker.

For the rest of you guys, should I be making a Google docs form?

And is this pricing/volume acceptable for you guys?  These cheeses keep for a long time.  I have had baggies of it in the fridge for 6+ months and not go bad.  Due to the low moisture content, it has a long shelf life, and the smoking process just extended it.

Yes, very much so.  This isn't something that one just eats.  But use it in cooking for a different twist on old favorites.  I use it in about everything, from personal custom dishes to frozen pizza to scrambled eggs.

I'm both lactose intolerant, and don't like cheese in general...but the smoked cheese Melvang makes is an experience all it's own. Believe me when I say you won't regret grabbing some. These two know what they're doing!

I was actually really interested in this because it was an IC for actual cheese rather than a cheese shaped keycap, but you just increased my wants more by saying even though you're lactose (same :C) it's worth the pick up. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out haha

Good ones. I might suggest you go for long seasoned Parmigiano Reggiano. 36 months would be the best.

That is the kind of reggiano, but not near aged that long,  I checked the package this morning and it says "aged over 8 months".  Sorry, I just get what is on the shelf at the local grocery store.

I like cheese.

I have already mailed some to CA.  I can post a quote from his response.  This stuff is amazing.  I do have a meat and cheese smoking guide posted in off topic.  I can link that here if you want.

I wasn't aware you, US people, liked italian cheese that much, nor it was so hard for you to get a hold of them.

My go-to fancy cheese is Manchego. It is sooooo good. If any Spaniards want to go ahead and send me some that'd be great.
