Problem with JellyKey spacebar
« on: Fri, 29 July 2016, 14:01:46 »
Anyone else running into this?

I installed it on my NovaTouch and my old WASD. And both have the same issue, if I try to hit the space bar with my left thumb, the spacebar dips to the left like it's a sinking ship. If I click in the center or the right side, it's fine however.

Here is the problem :(

Just at a glance, it seems like tolerance issue. Like that the stems on the space bar that fit onto the stabilizers are too loose. A brush of superglue on the inside should tighten them up. Just... Make sure you let the super glue dry first. :P

I had a similar problem with my WhiteFox and a Round 5 spacebar. The solution was to put a small piece of tinfoil between the stabilizer stem and the keycap and then push it down. Works like a charm, and less risky than super glue.

The non-permanent methods never crossed my mind. :P Yeah better option if you don't want to risk either messing it up or possibly being too tight with other keyboards.
