Home/work: Waiting for my KBD67 Lite r3 so I can put some gateron black inks :D, currently an epomaker niz atom TKL
Portable: Planck with keyfirst cream linears

I'm looking for an apple M0110a to convert to USB, although I'm not completely sure how I'm gonna do it, I'll probably daily drive it for a while.

TinkerBoy makes a USB adapter for the M0110A.  I recently bought an old Mac Plus just to get one of those keyboards.  It definitely brought back some memories of when I used to use one in my middle school's library, but boy are those things loud by today's standards.  I ran into an original Apple Extended Keyboard at a local computer surplus store, and tried it out.  It was so nice, but too loud for work.  For now I have a Topre PFU Limited Edition at the office.  No one can complain about the noise that one makes. :)

Yeah, I really want to dive deep into keyboard history, recently spotted an old soviet keyboard on ebay for only 70 dollars, but it probably sold, and I wasn't looking for such a big restoration...

Hey guys, it's nothing much but it's something that I'm proud of. I've transformed a pretty bog-standard Tecware Phantom to something that has a bit more class without breaking the bank. :)

279725-0

It's rocking 45g linear switches that have been lubed. The case, plate and PCB have been padded with foam. I then plonked on some BoW PBT dye-sub keycaps which are nice and thick.

Types and sounds pretty nice now.

My home desk keyboard is a Akko 3084 World Tour Tokyo with a Bearbie and good old gateron browns.  Just rolled out my Winter Bunny deskmat to enhance the winter season experience.   :thumb:

I realized that SA Nightlight would be a nice match with Winter Bunny.  GMMK TKL with my favorite Kailh Speed Bronze switches.  I also changed the light bulb to a nice "daylight" spectrum LED to enhance the icy blue.

This layout fits my needs just quite well; imagine that it allows easy typing in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and German, pretty much painlessly. Most of the time, I write in Latex, some computational statistics in R and Python, plus the usual office stuff.

I like the "Unix" Style Control Key position and this keyboard in general. On which Keyboard is this based, or is it a complete custom build?

Rocking my Jules again. Just swapped out the stock brass plate for a POM half plate & am really enjoying the results. It's still a stiff boy even with the half plate, but is so much softer feeling than with full brass plate.

rn im using some crappy laptop keyboard but at home my current board is:
KBD67 Lite (matte black) w/ Mistel OEM PBT WoB Keycaps and some SP-Star Dark Magic Girl switches on an FR4 plate with a silicone dampanner under the PCB and some LD-PE foam since I liked how it brought out the sound without giving the full-on PE foam sound.
the 67lite is definitely not the best out there but I'm just using it rn cus I love the magic girl switches

I just starting using an Ergodash with Gateron Yellow Switches and Doubleshot PBT Keycaps.

After two days, I can say the switches are great, the layout requires a LOT of getting used to, and I miss having dedicated Fn keys. I realize now how much I use them and it's not as easy now...

Mostly Topre Realforce 104 Hi Pro... love the 45g Topre and high profile keycap combination. When Mrs. Altis needs to sleep, I usually switch to the 87U 45g uniform.

IBM Model M SSK gets in the rotation quite frequently. I love using a keyboard that's only 6 weeks younger than I am in 2022  ;D

Just got a HiFinger 75 up and running and I am definitely enjoying the layout a whole lot more than I thought I might. Forcing certain keys to a function layer put into perspective how little I am actually using certain characters, even though I try and always be grammatically correct, so it's been a lot of fun getting used to a different layout.

They say Steve Jobs insisted on keeping that awful arrow key configuration. Not sure how accurate that is when the NeXT board went to something more conventional. There's a good reason old Alps boards are so expensive.

Right shift is my go-to shift. That's an interesting idea though.

I'll try to return to the tradition of uploading a picture. This one needs no introduction or explanation:

As is customary, I'm going to try to revive this thread. I recently finally did the popular thing and assembled a group buy kit board, the HMKB 65.

286633-0

I waited until I finally had the 40g Clickiez switches to potentially put into it. Initial testing in a hot swap board convinced me to solder those suckers into the HMKB. I used an Akko black & cyan ASA profile PBT cap set and Durock V2 stabs, since the stock boards do not support plate mount stabs. I don't care about lube and never will.

These switches may literally be contenders to dethrone Matias for best modern mass market clicky switches. They sound and feel better to me. I'll have to compare them to SKCM blues next. Haven't tried them in tactile configuration yet.

I just made my seasonal keyboard switch, from my Akko 3084 World Tour Tokyo to my GMMK TKL with MT3 Dwarvish with snappy Kailh Speed Bronze.

I'm not a fan of the MT3 profile or the surface feel of the caps, but it works fine and both the Dwarvish and Elvish keycap sets look fabulous.

If you do, leave the top off. Maybe you will get a deal because the top is the first thing that breaks.

Thanks. If you are interested extras go on sale in like 22 minutes (6/11). But I guess they had an issue with a batch of PCBs not working so were told extra PCBs will be hard to come by.

I personally love this board. Gasket mount. Virtually no ping which I find surprising in a 2-piece aluminum case. I personally require a knob for a daily board and I just loved the set up with the 3 extra keys under the knob. I love this thing.

Here she is.
Currently using a 60% prototype. I gotta say, coming from a 75, 60 takes some timmeeee to get used to.

Picture?

Full size, tkl, 75 and 65 are interchangeable to me. I don't ever use any of the extra keys on the bigger boards. 60 is a no-go though.

Corne DC "Double Chocolate"
Corne variant that support Kailh Chocolate v1 and v2 switches. The bottom plate is done in a shine through "PCB art" style. This is all of our design, inspired by the original Corne by Foostan.

My Realforce 91U arrived from Japan today!

I've always wanted this specific model for years, but I didn't really want to pay that much at the time (I found it for around $90 USD on Amazon Japan).
I've been using a Realforce 108U for the past few years, but it took up a bit too much desk space with the numpad.

It is a very interesting layout.
