Not sure if this has been mentioned already but the PCB fits perfectly with Tex Acrylic case (See picture below).

I dremeled, filed, scrubbed and painted a Dell AT101W plate. Its not perfect but it doesn't look too bad in my eyes. I can't wait for Badwrench's DCS Infinity modifier kit!

Tmk has support for locking switches I believe. Haven't read the documentation for it though

Hasu has documentation for capslock, numlock, and scroll lock, with a locking switch but I haven't seen documentation for fn lock with a locking switch. Perhaps I missed or misread something.

If you use a locking switch in place of an momentary fn switch, you are all set. Just put it there and enjoy the locking function

The thing with caps lock, scroll lock and num lock is that the "locking" is normally done in the software. Makes putting a locking switch there instead a bit harder as you need to adapt the firmware (no problem at all in TMK).

Does anyone know the size of the AEKII spacebar? I might look around and see if we can find a PBT alternative.

Matias is working on ALPS PBT caps and there are multiple sizes of spacebar. There might be one that fits AEKII.

If the white PBT caps they're making end up being the same shade of white as their ABS ones then they are going to be a very bright white. I guess you could try to dye some to color match.

I brought my new Alps 60% home this evening and got it set up on my Ubuntu desktop. I recently downsized my home office space, and a smaller keyboard is a really welcome change so far. I also spent a good bit of time this evening learning the TMK firmware and setting up my first custom config. I'm mainly a Dvorak user, but I often need to go back to QWERTY for certain things, including games. I'm also thinking about learning Colemak. So I borrowed the layout-switching idea from Poker-style boards (Fn+Q for QWERTY, Fn+D for Dvorak, etc.), and the HHKB layer from hasu's config (with Enter and Space as my momentary HHKB layer toggles), and frankensteined a setup that so far seems pretty solid for my use case.

I've got to say I really appreciate the TMK firmware. Having used the Infinity firmware (using the KLL spec), I very much prefer TMK. In fact, I am probably going to end up flashing both of my Infinity's with TMK. It's very well-documented and approachable, and the keymap syntax makes sense. So thanks to hasu for all of your hard work, not only on this PCB but on the firmware that makes it useful.

it had fake alps in it and one black on enter. i bought it just because i wanted the colored modifiers.

Well great find! I have been looking for one of these for years... With the colored modifiers or not, but all I can find is the littlefingers one.

I was really tempted to do the same thing. But I ended up scrapping the mouse layers so I just have a HHKB function layer (triggered by either Space or Enter), and switchable QWERTY/Colemak/Dvorak layers. But it was still super fun learning the firmware and customizing my layout.

I don't think it's based on speed. I think it just waits until you release the key to trigger the action. For example when I press space down and hold it, nothing happens. If I press another key in my function layer while still holding it, the function layer's action is executed. But if I let up the space bar without pressing any other keys, no matter how long I held it down, the space character will appear onscreen.

Several preassembled PCBs are available, which have cosmetic flaws like scars, blur silk prints or etc but they work functionally without problem. PM me if you are interested in getting one.

It costs 35(PCB)+10(Shipping)=$45USD in total and see the first post for the detail.

So sorry if this is bad for saying, but no discounts on the cosmetic defects or is this because there is no margin? If that is the case. I can understand that. Can you at least show us a example of what one of these cosmetic defects look like?

As I said before all PCBs had more or less defects unfortunately because of sloppy production by cheap mediocre PCB house. The leftovers are a bit worse than others.
