Can we get Mr Sleeves Round 2 for this and make sure we get a text mods option? The arrow on the Enter key ruined the minimalism.

Is the tilde legend really that big? Is that just the GMK style?

Yep, that's the GMK style. Here's how it looks on a real board:

It's not too big.

I hope you will update the Norde Kit and add the other necessary ISO keys to it (like you did it with the Norde Kit for Modern Dolch R2!).
Oh and colored ISO-Enters please!
+1 for coloured ISO enters please!

This is a render of GMK WS2 (GMK Bleach) in an e-White case.

It's already pretty much a perfect match.

Question:

How can OP create an even more perfect match to e-White? (i.e. than WS2)
Wishlist: 1) nice thick Alps caps; 2) Cherry profile POM;

Wishful-list: 1) We order from keyboard-layout-editor.com; 2) usable Trackpoint module for all keyboards

It varies a bit from one e-white finish to the next, but in my experience e-white is generally somewhere in between WS1 and WS2 in terms of color temperature.

Hi guys! I got some exciting news: GMK Minimal 2 will be running from August 2nd until September 2nd through Dixiemech, Dailyclack, IlumKB, Mykeyboard and Zfrontier! Mark your calendars  :D

Now for a few updates:

First of all you might have noticed something about the name there, for consistency's sake with projects like GMK Modern Dolch 2 (and honestly because Minimall was quite a confusing name) we decided to change to GMK Minimal 2.

Secondly, you guys loved the "all in" Norde kit of MoDo 2 so we brought the same system here! This means Norde users won't have to buy Addition for the ISO keys!

Lastly, we've decided to make Minimal just that little bit more Minimal by adding mono alphas! These are a great new addition to the set and are perfect to complete that clean look!

We also have one last exciting item to add so keep your eyes open ;)

I know it's late, but I would love some form of 1u something in r3 that isn't TAB, ESC, or PgDn. There's a 1.5(?) R3 FN in the obscure kit; I'd be plenty happy with a 1u R3 FN too or even a blank. It's just that not all ortho users have that R3 as TAB or ESC and there's literally nothing else in base or obscure to put there except PgDn.
Ortho. Always.

Mono kit nice for the left 2 row macros of quefrency / zenith etc too.

In some alternate universe the extra thing is WS1 relegendables. Rama X and O gotta be almost guaranteed, right?

I agree with this. I think a more generic legend like Hack or Code would be even better.

Agree (we've had this convo before). In this case, I was just leveraging that there's already an FN key (albeit too big) in the obscure set.
Ortho. Always.

Indeed. Here's a list of all ortho keys that this key (e.g. Code) could cover for:
  • R3 1u Ctrl
  • R3 1u Caps
  • R3 1u Shift
  • R3 1u Fn
Some of these keys are more commonly used (source) than R3 1u Tab, which is currently the only key included.

Additionally, R3 1u Code would also cover some obscure 65% layouts (e.g. Uniqey C70) in which it's used, complementing the idea of the kit.

Therefore, the addition of this key would be beneficial for several reasons.

Pretty please with cherry on top?  FedEx/UPS would charge us an extra 20% “handling fees” on top of duties.  We always end up paying an extra 40-50% when shipping from the states.

I'd personally prefer ISO UK being moved to either the NorDe or base kit, but that probably won't happen. Addition is just a very unattractive kit price-wise for all keys except ISO UK.

Also, praying for a return of the RAMA caps.

It's not just you. As a software developer who uses that key frequently, it looks so wrong. I'd join in this GB if they could offer a regular-sized tilde legend in the base set or one of the add-ons or something.

I have the following general assessments as well as some assessments on specific keys. This is just based on the first picture I see, I didn't go over any of the expansion sets.

General:

1. Alphabet letters are too bold compared to other keys.
2. key [{, ]}, ;:, and '" are too close to the left.

Specifics:
248207-0

I think a good point of reference are your typic MacBook keyboard keys in terms of size and boldness and the command/control/shift keys in terms of position. These look fine at first glance but they seem incoherent together after a closer look. Not sure if anyone else agrees, just my two cents.

Wow I never realized that until you mentioned it by now I can't unsee it.

The ~ key seems to be 20% bigger than all the other keys on all my sets so this most likely means it is a standard mold, most likely will have to create a new mold if we want to create a more uniform tilde key

This is a GMK set. The legends will be the ones from the GMK molds. Any changes—or even small tweaks—would require a new mold, which gets expensive. Another reason for using existing molds is compatibility with other GMK sets.
You might take a look at KAT Refined. It was developed to address some of the typographical issues with GMK sets. And since KAT sets are dye-subbed PBT, you have a lot more freedom to dial in the legends exactly how you like without affecting the cost.
I’ll be in for KAT Refined when it drops, but definitely hyped for this set as well.

I don't remember which set it was, but there have been efforts to improve some of minor legend issues which exist in GMK molds.  So, it's not unprecedented, though it does seem kinda late in this IC for that to happen.

I suppose he meant the RAMA, but I'm personally not a fan of it.
Wish they had the X one but reversed, so it's BoW. And the rest... they're alright I guess.. Not my cup of tea. The basic shapes and basic RGB colors are really boring and mundane. Grabbing the base kit and spacebars though.

Hopefully I'm wrong and there's something else to be revealed.  :p
