- I am still experimenting with the diffuser, ordered the transparent and semi-transparent acrylic from Plexiglass to test which is better. If nothing goes wrong, I will include the option to purchase diffuser when I invoice for the shipping. It should cost not more than $15 for the diffuser.
- The plate and pcb are compatible with the R1 case.

If I remember correctly, the form was still up even after all 20 were taken. We didn't find out until later if we got in.
There are only 25, so once 25 forms are submitted then that's it.

On a note to the side, I'm actually surprised by all the college kids who have so many custom boards. When I was in college I had to wait a few months before I could buy an iPod Video. And I had a really good, high-paying job for a college kid. D:

I don't spend too much money outside of keyboards at the moment, other than gas. I usually like to focus on a hobby and dump a good bit of money into it and then find another hobby as well. I made a pretty penny over the summer working my ass off for my dad, building computers, and some online stuff as well. Every year I'm usually dumping my money on new ski equipment, I'm pretty content with what I have so I have spent a dime on anything ski related as of now.

I have made some sample with the transparent and semi-transparent Plexiglass acrylic. The semi-trans one does work better with the light diffusing. The only problem is that the light is not that bright on the bottom side (spacebar area), because the case is not specially design to this purpose.

Yuksti has been planning the TGR pad for quite some time now, I know for sure that he's going to go through with it unless some abruptly occurs now.

Pretty sure that's the numbering of the boards, and they were numbered in order of the order received. At least, that's how round 1 worked.
I know some people requested specific numbers, but other than that it was first come, first served.

I'm not quite sure, I'll ask and get back to you. There were some minor set backs this GB with the plate taking longer than expected and difficulty with anodization since it's a harder grade aluminum but everything has been resolved.

I have two questions about this picture:
1) Why are they only closed the first Monday of each month? Any significance behind that or is it just easier to keep track of?

I have two questions about this picture:
1) Why are they only closed the first Monday of each month? Any significance behind that or is it just easier to keep track of?
2) What is up with those burger buns?
I am just trying to answer within my own knowledge, it is probably not true.
1) Monday because Monday blues? There's probably more customers during the weekends and not on Monday. So, no need to work on Monday feels win. Win-win situation.
2) Those are charcoal buns that is made from bamboo charcoal, hence the colour. It's quite delicious despite the colour, and no, there's no burnt smell.

Yeah, if you kinda try and adjust for the light, you'll see it's definitely pink, seems like a pretty hot pink though.

I fixed the color a bit on the photo, ceiling lights give a yellow tint. Natural light is best light. :thumb:

That pink is so dreamy. Reminds me of an LE Filco in metallic pink I used to have. It was a warm-ish rosy kind of pink too that changed shades depending on lighting significantly.

Yeah it most likely shipped already if he received and paid for the invoice. It's difficult dealing with so many tracking numbers sometimes people get left out of the tracking info, a simple pm to yuktsi should clear things up.
On a side note, my board finally passed through customs so hopefully it gets here before I leave for vacation.

Yeah the anodizing is definitely better than r1. There also something about 7075 alu that makes it feel better, can't really describe it. It may just be all in my head but it's such an amazing board.

It's basically a tool to map keys & do macros & configure SMD RGB colors for the A87 PCB

However, I do think the finishing leaves something to be desired.. it does definitely have some errors.I am totally aware of the anodizing issue. Which is why the Tris project is delayed until I find a good source of anodizing. I think the issue is due higher copper content in the 7075 (in comparison to 6061).

Then check on your soldering. Let's say none of the Leds are turning on, that's mean very likely that your RGB1 is not properly soldered. If let's only rgb 1 to rgb 5 are turned on, that's mean you either your rgb 5 or rgb 6 is not soldered properly.

There are some hairline scratches, which were definitely not caused in shipping. It looks like they were caused during handling. Not sure if this is because of the shop you used or something else. I'll thoroughly go over the board later today and post them here (or I can PM them to you if you'd prefer).

I think the issue is due higher copper content in the 7075 (in comparison to 6061).There's a few other finishing issues too. There are some hairline scratches, which were definitely not caused in shipping. It looks like they were caused during handling. Not sure if this is because of the shop you used or something else. I'll thoroughly go over the board later today and post them here (or I can PM them to you if you'd prefer).

i think i know what youre referring to, as mine also have some hairline scratches that if you really try to have a detailed scan, you will find it. Mine is located in the logo area above the arrow keys which i tot was from the soft brush im using to clean the board. Still im happy with it and satisfied with the purchase ^-^

From above there is only one issue, which to be honest is me nitpicking. There is a barely noticeable scratch along one of the edges :

As I said before, the machining on this case is absurdly good. It's better than any other custom I've owned. However, I am disappointed with the finishing - it's certainly the worst finishing I've had on a custom. Luckily, the errors aren't too visible from above. I'm hoping that this criticism is constructive and that it will help you & your shop improve the finishing quality in the future. I absolutely understand how hard it is to control the quality of finishing.
I'm still very pleased with this keyboard ;D

The red plate is a half plate, so that you can pcb mount the alphas, but plate mount the mods and other switches. It is supposed to give you the best of both worlds. Others will have to comment on their thoughts and preference to using it.

Problem: The minus key (between 0 and =) on my Jane doesn't function. When I was testing the switches post soldering, I noticed it was the only key that did not work. So I desoldered that switch and put in a new one. It still didn't work. So I assumed it was a mapping issue since multiple keys were mapped incorrectly. I completed the build and then installed and launched the JigOn_151116 software. I remapped several keys to my preference, but the minus key was correctly mapped to minus by default. It's clear that the key isn't working from the JigOn software because when the keyboard is connected to the software pressing the minus does nothing, the software doesn't see that the key has been pressed. The software detects all other keys being pressed. I already tried two switches in case one was bad and soldered the switch the same as I did the other 86 keys.
Any advice? It seems that the PCB is defective if a key does not function?
Question: Do you guys have any tips/guides on soldering the RGB LEDs? I noticed a corner triangle on the PCB and LEDs that seems to indicate an orientation. On my PCB, RGB1 and RGB2 have holes in the PCB slightly larger than the LEDs so is there something different that needs to be done with those two? I have not soldered something like that before but it seems like it would be very difficult since the LEDs are so small and there's nothing to hold them. Thanks.

were feet provided for the board in the buy? I can't seem to find any and I'm wondering if I lost them. Are there any recommendations for which feet to buy?IIRC, mine were taped to the top piece of foam in the box.
If you did in fact lose them, any little rubber nubs to keep clocks or the like from moving should be good replacements.

Yeah, Yong is the one who dropped the ball. It's unfortunate that yuktsi is the one who has to pick up the slack. Hopefully, people don't see this as a tarnish on yuktsi's reputation as a dependable group buy runner.

Just a question, My CE has a long weight that shows from the bottom, rather than the interior weight. I couldn't seem to find any reason/info on why this is. Maybe I'm just being stupid, but I just can't figure it out :(There were group buys outside of Geekhack where it was offered apparently.

- 25 units GB version with short internal brass weight were made. 21 units were delivered months ago. 3 units pending assembly, 1 unit pending delivery.
- 10 units with long external brass weight were made for close friends like Kyrtone, Yongjk, Juahenza etc.
Private Jane CE GB
- 10 units Jane CE were ordered to fulfil some of the private orders (March)
- Production was failed for the 10 units due wrong selection of material (7075) and the inexperience of new factory
- Additional 10 orders were taken from China hoping to bring down the cost and some extra profit to make up for losses on the failed units. (June)
- 25 units with long internal brass weight are in the making
Mira Prototypes
- I pointed out the design flaws of Mira to DrHubblePhD/Ninjadoc after seeing the first prototype or the renders (I don't remember)
- Ninjadoc later approached me to redesign the board and have the prototypes made. I agreed to help since I was one of participants.
- The interior of Mira was redesign for better PCB compatibilty and typing feel. So 3 units were made and I paid for one to keep for myself, which Ninjadoc was fully aware of. My unit was later sold to my friend.
- The exterior was later redesign and prototype was required to justify the new design. Prototype was made at my cost since Ninjadoc didn't have the access to the pre-order fund.
X60 Prototypes
- Unexpected delay in production. There were changes of design in between, lack of manpower from the factory etc.
- PayPal dispute was opened and Paypal is in the process of reviewing it.

There are some extra winkeyless top due to the change in design. There's an extra bottom too. Also due to change in design. If I'm not mistaken la. Getting old, sigh.

Thanks for the clarification, yuktsi. :thumb: 6061 is great. I was talking with someone about this keyboard, and we realized we had no idea what ended up happening with the material selection.6061 is commonly available and cheap. They are easier to be anodized unlike the 7075.
Just that the quality is too inconsistent as there are too many suppliers/sources in the market.
