Tokyo Olympics
« on: Thu, 01 August 2019, 20:11:14 »
Guys, I'm worried,  what if u know, it comes time ,  and people don't go.

That would be awful..

The article does not explain the risks properly (it's minimal if you're just there for a few days, weeks).

But it overall (may not be ready) is the gist.  feels a bit 1984, just re-watched it on bluray

Japan's got Zaitokukai , which is the American equivalent of KuKluxKlan.

The nationalist h8 group's utility is whenever the Wealthy elite (like Abe or Trump) needs something smashed up, they can't dirty their own hands, so they call in their Klan connections.

Kekekeke...

Tellin' y'all it's safe..  for ~2-3 months.. no probs..

The ONLY thing visitors may need to watch out for is the watersport. And prolly shouldn't eat alot of food, eat some food, not alot, like enough to not be hungry, skip the fish, really, fish, don't.

Hrrrm.. seems Jpn did take Korea off their trade whitelist.

Korea is in maximum angry mode, boycotting all Jpn products/services..

It's pretty big, because national retail chains pulled Jpn product off shelves, and Delivery services are refusing to deliver Jpn branded goods.

Gas stations refuse to refuel Jpn brand cars. hhaha, that one's a little overboard, but i don't think it's all gas stations, prolly just a few stubborn ones.

It doesn't look like there's a diplomatically easy ladder down on the escalation. Yikes

Korea's current election is also heavily steered towards winning votes by trending with the Boycott fervor.

There is nothing technological that Korea needs to buy from Jpn which they can't (EVENTUALLY) replicate for themselves. But that's obviously inefficient.

I follow several westerners on Youtube who live in and report from Japan, and especially in Tokyo. A few have mentioned the upcoming Olymics many times. Some public buildings and facilities in Tokyo have been renovated before the games, which is noticeable.
Noticeable is also how many hotels and tourist spots have already raised their prices in anticipation of a large influx of tourists.

The timing of the Olympics is a bit weird, because it will be set in the time of the year when Tokyo is the hottest and most humid. I wouldn't want to visit Tokyo at that time myself.

I was in Tokyo in June for the first time.  Struggling to imagine adding a lot MORE people to it, in terms of transportation and in general.  I imagine the touristy areas like the Shibuya Crossing to be completely backed up with people for a couple square miles.  To me, Tokyo seems to operate pretty smoothly because it has mostly native Japanese living there, following the traditional and strict Japanese consideration for rules, politeness, and taking care to not damage or disrupt public and personal property.  I shudder thinking of how much more overtime they'll have to put in to clean up and repair during and after the Olympics with the influx of a LOT of foreigners in a short period of time, many of whom will not be so considerate.  Japan was like no other country I've ever visited to date.

Avoid fish, and eating-too-much.  Everything will be fine..

The humidity would be discouraging for anyone who's under AC 100% of the time, That's prettty much just 'Muricans though.. hahaha

But we do have the Florida peeps who are gud' with humidity.

Seems Korea has taken Jpn off their trade whitelist in retaliation.

Jpn cancels an art-exhibit which featured a (statue) representative of a (comfort-woman) (at peace).

There's no way to de-escalate.   Because the TOPIC involved is purely emotional, and a dispute of a Certified Fact.

Divorce is mainly a 1st world problem.   2 people who CAN be together, but don't truly NEED one another.

That is certainly the case with modern economies.

GDI,  saw this coming.. Korea now pushing r4d1at10n to the forefront of the disagreement regarding olympics..

This is a major problem, because while average lvl is not super high,   if you went and spot tested, it can be 100-1000x as much as average..

This will give Korea the ammo to say , hey look at this,  your place is whack..

Then Jpn will be like,  fine don't come..  and then, what if  someone else decides not to go..
