Then it's likely just stupid coding flowing from that fact.

Can't get to geekhack.org from Comcast's network.  The DNS is screwed up.  It is pointing to a parked domain.  Did you guys forget to pay your bill or what?

DNS troubles.  Should be all fixed now, although some networks and locations saw sporadic outages during the afternoon.

hmm strange that malwarebytes that I installed today keeps blocking geekhack as potentially malicious website.  :eek:
and the geekhack itself keeps redirecting to some search website or function.

Strange indeed.  If your ISP doesn't yet have the correct IP address info, you are getting mal-formed HTML, which is probably being interpreted as bad juju by your PC.  You can fix that by adding an entry to your hosts file.

New problem.  www.geekhack.org is unknown.  It's supposed to redirect to geekhack.org, no?

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but...

Is there a particular reason why I can't say anything in the IRC?  It keeps saying "== Cannot send to channel: #geekhack"

Perhaps we need a thread for people nudging the mods to approve posts, or do they just get PMed automatically if there is a post awaiting moderation?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

In my PM's list, I can't view any of my sent messages. I can only see ones that I've received and a single PM that I've sent out. I've defintely sent more than 1 out so I was curious as to why this is happening.

Nice, I must've unclicked that option somehow after I sent my first PM. Thank you. Hopefully this fixes the issue.

I was wired for a few days and it was the same.... gets pretty annoying. I also changed my DNS which made no difference.

I can think of ONE other site it happens on: Amazon, usually just attribute that to them being stupid busy ALL the time. Maybe the same can be said for here. Or maybe its an ISP issue.

youtube tags may actually be broken entirely at the moment due to the new ssl requirement.

sorry about tardiness, but the priority for the last few months has been raising money for modern hardware, and now we are rebuilding the back-end infrastructure over this new hardware. once we are able to push out code more regularly i will be clearing these reports post by post, so please keep reporting.

I use the nostalgia theme and whenever I click on a sub-forum or a thread, the screen flashes white and then loads the page.  Not sure if there is anything that can be done to remedy this, but I have sensitive eyes and find it a bit irritating.

I use the spy A LOT on GH and I've found that the Last Post button doesn't usually bring me to the last post. More often than not, I get linked to a post thats a page and a half behind. For example, if a thread has 3 pages and I click last post, I'll probably end up half way down page 2 instead of at the end of page 3. Is there something wrong with my settings or is this a bug?

I'm unsure tbh. I just assumed it brought me to the very last post of the thread.

Edit: I just tried it. It doesn't bring me to the last post that I read. Sometimes it jumps to the newest topic in the thread (which is what I thought it did), sometimes it jumps me to a random point earlier in the thread.

I didn't even know "Last Post" was over on the left, so Thank You. I tried it on a few threads and it always takes me to the last post, regardless if I've read the thread before.

Win 7 + Chromium in case that matters.

Edit: Just tried it with Chrome and had the same thing you're experiencing happen once or twice.

Edit2: It just happened with Chromium, which only makes sense lol. FWIW, it only seems to be threads I've never read before.

That little icon with the arrow is supposed to take you to the oldest unread post in that thread, not to the bottom of the thread.  It's the same as the little icon with the downward facing arrows in the "Unread" and "New" views.  It has worked very consistently for me.  The results will also be affected by remote use of the site via a mobile app.  Tapatalk interacts pretty well with it, but I've seen situations where mobile access affects SMF's pointer to your last read message in that thread.

The uncensored option is missing when using the nostalgia theme. I tried manually adding it in and submitting it, but it still doesn't work...

Code: [Select]
<li>
<input type="hidden" name="default_options[show_no_censored]" value="0" />
<label for="show_no_censored"><input type="checkbox" name="default_options[show_no_censored]" id="show_no_censored" value="1" checked="checked" class="input_check" /> Leave words uncensored.</label>
</li>

The "viewing this topic" section is also missing in the nostalgia theme.

Code: [Select]
<p id="whoisviewing" class="smalltext">0 Members and 1 Guest are viewing this topic.</p>
To fix both of these should be simple right? So why have they STILL not been fixed after all these months?...
Reaper "frelled" me... Twice... Did he "frell" you too?... *brohug*
I'm camping for a week, and moving twice in a month. I'll get back to you when I can (If I don't then just send me another PM).
