[IC] GMK CP77
« on: Tue, 12 June 2018, 03:26:35 »
Sooo... E3 reminded me that I played with some colours about 2 years ago to pay homage to CyberPunk 2077
and I decided to pick that idea back up yesterday.

The old designs have more of the dark green in it, but I wanted to make it a bit fresher and replaced the main alpha colour with the what I call "data green", to lighten it up a bit, as well as use more of the rad Yellow and cyBlue.

I'll just post some pics here of both new and old.

New:

Old:

Also:
ALBUM to more variants (of both new and old)

My goal at first is to get the colours and the ratio right. After that I'll work on kits for compatibility as well as Novelties (got a few ideas on those already)

Of course I'm open to comments and ideas on this :)

What I forgot to mention, I'm not entirely set on GMK yet though. Depending on novelty Ideas, it could go direction Dye-Sub... but that's just a far off idea atm.

(PS: My other IC is on hold for now, since there were some mix ups and I'd prefer to pick that up a bit later)

reserved for updates

Currently gonna let this one rest (or sink in) until something good strikes me and gives me an idea how to make the vibrance and erratic thing work aesthetically

no, but you can dyesub dark on light and get the effect with a negative image. (like the chinese carbon dsa clone did with orange legends on black keys)

GMK doesn't do PBT which is required for dye-sub

yeah, I know. if I would wanna go dye-sub, I'd probably look towards the east for that, but the novelties I've got at the moment should be doable with double shot.

Was pondering around the idea of doing it in SA too, but I'm not sure the profile would match the style

I dig the inspiration, but unfortunately the set isn't for me. I was never a huge fan of the multi color sets.

I will mention that the first render from the "old" set of renders is my favorite (the one with mostly dark green). From the "new" renders, I also like the first renders the most.

One thing I always wondered about these types of staggered colored sets is how they would look on layouts other than tkl and standard 60. Maybe consider making a render on hhkb, 65, or 75% layouts to see how the color coordination works, which might influence interest in the kit for those considering using it on layouts other than tkl and standard 60.

GL!

gave it another go with arranging the pattern differently... I think its better, but still not totally happy with it...

might put it on hold until I get a better idea for it...

been playing with the same colours in a darker theme, but I still want this vibrant one... I'll let it rest for a while

As cool as a Cyberpunk 2077 keyset sounds, these colors give me bad vibes. Sorry bro, I'm out, keep trying though, I think black instead of green might work. Something more similar to terminal maybe.

yeah maybe.
I'll sleep over it a few times, see if I get an epiphany
