Sigh.. They stopped doing it to save weight..

But it is FAR superior in feel to all the mechanical encoders..

Optical Sensor
Probably good indefinitely if kept lubed.

The new crop of logitech wheels are bunk, and they turn smooth, losing almost all feel of the indents ~ 3 months.

None of Logitech's mice is ergonomic. You should be using a vertical mouse without scroll wheel.

Um... well, no logitechs are not ergo-friendly.. but why couldn't there be a scroll wheel in a vertical mouse ?
