With the price drop I'm really considering going in on these and comparing them to Holy Pandas or playing around with the spring weight, but the PayPal fees are a bit ****ty, especially since PayPal has specifically stated not to charge it on orders like this.

Pretty common practice in the keyboard community. I can't remember the last KB GB I joined outside of MD that hasn't had a paypal fee included.

TBF, most vendors doing keyset GBs have fees calculated ahead of time. It's not especially difficult to just do (your price)/.956(for intl orders, or just .97 for CONUS only) to get approximately what the price will be with the fee included.

I lubed my original holy panda with Tribosys 3203, and I didn't lube on the leg parts. IMO, lubing doesn't reduce the sound much, and actually it reduces the tactile of holy panda to a degree, which I prefer it unlubed. But the springs do have ping sound, so it's a benefit to lube the spring. That is for original holy panda though. The gsus has a different spring, so things maybe different. Also, people may have different opinions based on their tastes.

Has anyone tried zilent stems on panda housing?

And man, that tealio stem on panda housing sounds interesting. Does it make the sound "more appealing" (i.e. deeper, lesser clack, plasticky sound) than stock tealio housing?

Tealio stem is shorter than halo I believe, so doesnt really have any sound in the downstroke (unless you smash it)

Just got my invoice. Thank you @supervan ! MD having a last minute Halo drop definitely gave this GB a second second wind because now we don't have to wait for May for the MD versions. I'll be getting both and I'll save my strange feelings about all this Holy Panda drama for after I've got these in hand.

At the end of the day whatever story doesn't matter. The fact that good switches are out in the wild is good for everyone. And so far no one's been scammed so no harm no foul. Live and let live.
