I want to like the two new deskmat designs but they're just too busy to me. The, er... space-whales(?) on them are very complex artwork that I think is contributing a lot to the busy sensation. Would you be willing to consider the mats with everything the same except those characters removed? That, I think, might look really good.

I implemented some of the things you said in your last comment, and I am thinking now what to do with the NorDeUK because the lead vendor said that this layout of International Kit sold the best in previous GBs

As someone waiting for a few GB's from them, what is the recent drama with Mechs and co people keep bringing up? Should I be worried about it?

In a nutshell, they were in charge of two keyboard GB's that went to GB several months ago (Loki65 and Saveus Cor65xt), and after collecting everyone's money that bought into both GB's, they failed to ever pay the manufacturer any money at all to start any work on either project.  The designers and other vendors that were involved with both projects reached out more times than I can count to get updates, and they were all strung along by M&C giving them lots of false promises such as "I'll pay them by the end of the week", or "I have to check with the team on the status of things".  However, most of the time they didn't receive any responses at all, especially in the last month or so, and both GB's had to be cancelled as a result.  To date, M&C has only refunded a handful of people from both GB's to my knowledge, and the overwhelming majority of all others that joined those GB's haven't received a penny back or even a response to their messages or emails.  I know because I'm one of the buyers in the Saveus Cor65xt that requested a refund well over a week ago, but haven't heard a single word back yet.  I also have several other keycap GB's I bought through them, which I'm now very concerned about as I'm wondering if I'll ever receive any of them.

All of the above is pretty much what very publicly transpired recently, and while I don't have any physical proof of this, It seems like they have some serious cash flow issues going on there and possibly some serious mismanagement of money collected for Group Buys they're running, and they got caught in a situation that they couldn't get out of since they seem to not have any cash left in the business to pay the manufacturers, refund customers, or use for anything else for that matter.  It's unfortunately not looking good at all, and I'm worried I'm going to end up losing all the money I paid to them if they end up going under.....

Comparing the shots of the kitting to the renders the alpha legends appear to be different colors. The base kit shows them as a nice bright white but the renders seem to be much more muted and less contrasty. What is the intended legend color? I think the white looks much nicer, personally.

Kit renders show exactly how it will be. Brighter than in board renders! I used different types of lighting for board renders so you see how colors would look in a more dark environment for example!

I have to announce that the scheduled GB date has been subject to a postponement and it is now anticipated to take place during the first week of September. I truly think that smaller projects like this which are unlikely to sell many hundreds should consider alternative manufacturers, honestly. Such as for example Key Kobo or really just anyone else. Not that I think this is doomed or anything, in fact I quite like it. But a different manu could be sold as preorder or in-stock which seems to be the trend of things lately (disclosure: I said the same thing in the GMK Bim thread).

On one hand, this is true. On the other hand, any manufacturer that isn’t GMK is pretty much an instant turn off for me.
