Welcome to the RIVA V2 IC! This is the second version of Riva diving deeper into the theme while staying true to its original form!

GB from march 27th to april 4th 2024!

Details

Layout: WK and WKL 60% (ANSI and ISO)   
Mounting: Plateless PCB leaf spring mount
Typing angle: 6.5˚ typing angle
Front height: 14mm (18mm without Cherry lip, adjusted 18.6mm)
PCB: 1.6mm soldered with daughter board (hotswap in the works!)
Features: ultra-low USB-C position, cherry lip, WAVE sides   
Materials: Case: 6063 aluminum, Weight: stainless steel   
Manufacturer: Dadesin
Typing test: coming soon!
Hotswap: available in an extra kit!
 


RIVA is using a custom PCB designed by langerhans. The following layout is supported:












Colors

All colours are set!
Purple (from the Protos)
Light Blue (from the Protos)
Burgundy
Black

Oh wow that light blue ano color is cool :-D Love the low front height, love the angle, love the weight/back logo, love 1.6mm PCB (presumably no flex cuts)!

Could possibly do with another photo that shows more of the side. Also that second photo is really weird it looks like the board isn't touching the desk on the sides, but I guess it's just a quirk of the lighting.

Sadly no HHKB! glwic

not really, his point is this is a low info/low effort ic.
i was interested but since there's no pic of the inside of the board and the IC only has the question "are u interested?" with no,link to v1 either made me reply back with No.

apparently you didn‘t look at the ic form properly
there are more questions
also, there is a pic of the internals and 5 protos were ordered

sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the PCBs before I sent out the prototypes  :eek:. I made a render of it + two renders of the exploded view

yes, there are no flex cuts! I tested those on the first Riva version and they were just too much and sounded worse.
That picture looks that way because i took them in my photo box which has a soft bottom. I linked more pictures in the gallery, feel free to check them out!  ;D

the questions only show up if u select the option "interested=yes", and since the info wasnt before this option, i couldnt see the questions. checked them now.
internal pics were prolly edited in. werent there at the time of my comment.

Thank you all for participating in the IC form! I was able to decide on two of the four GB colours so far:
Light Blue was the most voted colour with a huge majority, purple being the second most wanted! The third colour is probably going to be either black or silver, the fourth not being final yet.

I ordered the hotswap PCB and Plate and should be able to test them out soon. I've decided that they are going to be sold as an extra hotswap-kit since i want everyone who buys a Riva to also enjoy and experience it plateless.

You will be able to see how everything works and sounds at the keyboard stream before the GB  ;D 

(google form will stay open until the end)

Helloo everyone!  ;D
The hotswap PCBs arrived and i just tested them! They work great and are even usable without a Plate (stepped capslock and split rShift are a bit wonky) but i still recommend to use them with it since the switches are secure more that way.

Not yet! I just went through the google form to count the votes and the last colour is a tie between pink/rose and dark red with around 10 votes each. I'll try to decide it until the end of december! Personally if you ask me I'm also 50/50 between pink and red  ;D

So for now it's Lavender, Light Blue and Black!

I have a few updates regarding the Riva GB:

1. Alexotos livestream - Be sure to check it out today, 1pm EST!
2. All the colours are decided on! Last colour is going to be burgundy.
3. Hotswap PCBs are going to be purchasable as an extra kit including a plate.

No, silver was a one of the prototype colours. It received less votes than black so I had to take it out of the GB
