OK, another idea: xjump arrow cluster!
If you don't know what xjump is, http://dame.dyndns.org/misc/xjump/ is the disgusting flash version of it. Disgusting because it has not the amazing bugs of the classic.
So the images would be these:
[attach=1] down
[attach=2] up
[attach=3] right
[attach=4] left
Does anyone else fancy it? :3
