GMK/Cherry key caps are far superior to anything done by SP.

As always Flynn comes up and provides the necessary prompt to get people to go for these keys. I couldn't understand why such a low pick-up because I love the purple and CMYK colours. On a Cherry board it'll look perfect.

I suppose SP has the majority of the attention on here at Geekhack so GMK just gets ignored.

Lower prices, quality improvement of Cherry over SP is maybe 10-15% better at best, more colors, easier custom legends, manufacturer willing to work with us and give deals, not having to buy keys I don't want to support the minority, having reasonable MOQs, actually getting enough orders to go into production. I'm sure there are more if I wanted to think of them.

GMK seem to offer more colours than SP... or at least the colours people seem to want SP don't seem to offer

I would argue that GMK quality is more like 50% better at least. They will order any color plastic stock you wish. They will do custom legends, but there may be a long lead time. The choice of keys offered was ours. MOQ is high, but much less than some Asian manufacturers I have contacted that start at 10,000 units and the same as many others like the PBT source that we use with imsto. Basically they are not SP and run thier buisiness differently and is just something that we need to adjust to when working with other manufacturer.

I'm just curious which properties of Cherry keys make them 50% better than Signature Plastics? They win in thickness but lose in texture in my opinion, however thickness doesn't matter for most people because their chances of wearing a hole through a key is slim to none. They are also both ABS, but SP has the spru on the front which can only be seen in a few circumstances on a few keyboards.

Also it wasn't the best information to base a conclusion on, but sherryton said originative could not get the orange color they wanted for SkiData because GMK couldn't get it. So I figured they were not as flexible as Signature Plastics in that regard because I can literally give SP any Pantone number and get that color in plastic.

For me specifically SP looses huge becuase I really loathe the DCS profile, the bottom row is horrible and I refuse to type on them. I don't know about anything sherryton says.
I was quite specific about getting the various colors we are offering, so as challenging as getting the magenta right seems to be they didn't have any issue. Compare to SP who wanted to charge some outrageous additional custom color price when I was pursuing Miami... there is not with GMK. Plastic stock is plastic stock.

We are not being charged any fee for the new color for Toxic so they must have changed their policies. It only increases lead time since they have to order the plastic. The only situation that I could see having to pay for a new color is if you did not produce enough keys to use up the material they are buying.

Oh PLEASE Flynn can we at least buy your MY7000 key-caps?

I do absolutely prefer that we go forward with Ivan's GB with GMK (because the man needs our support). I just urge everyone here to look towards forming a reliable business connection with GMK (via Ivan) because they are testing to see who we are by allowing this Group Buy to progress.

If we win here with a large amount of orders then it's onto Gravy-Town with any and all Key-sets available to us, in the future.

It pretty much supports everything but the split backspace.
