Two questions before I commit:I believe with USB you actually get 6KRO (and NKRO with a PS/2 adapter). Might want to check with Sixty since he actually reviewed this keyboard.
1) Does the n-Key rollover advertised in the spec sheet work via USB, or will I need to find a USB -> PS/2 converter?
2) Is a USB cable provided in the package, or will I need to find one of those as well?

The WASD mod is piss easy, the board already has all the solder spots you need. Dump in some leds, connect the circuit to one of the other existing LEDs (I picked the arrow-lock ones) and enjoy!
The keycaps are prototypes from clickclack. They are not yet available. Apparently they are harder to make than even triple shot.

From the samples of this boards that was reviewed, the keys were black text on black keys with white labels for fn keys (on the front). The keys on this one are black with white text and nothing on the front side of the keys? The same with the replacements being sold?

Hmm. In Sixty's review, he says they are PBT keycaps. In Webwits review, he says the are ABS. As far as I can tell, without any macro shots, they look the same to me. So in the reviews, are they PBT or ABS, or did they get models with different keycaps? They're both lasered if I'm not mistaken, and that's why I thought they would be lasered with a white fill. :/

The sample keycaps were laser engraved PBT. The retail version will be ABS with a white print. I am not sure myself if it is laser printed or pad printed, as far as I can tell the keycaps are the same as on the old DAS3.

You can't order one with clears, but if you bought an inexpensive keyboard off ebay with clears, it's very easy to swap them on without any soldering.

I wonder if it would be possible, then, to simply order a bag of the microswitches themselves, if swapping is as easy as advertised.

stupefaction, I believe you'd have little issue reselling this keyboard in the classifieds section. I, too, like my keyboards either flat or even with a negative pitch. I don't think it will be an issue, but if it is, I'm sure I could find some round, rubber feet for the front of the 'board...but, like I said, I don't think it will be an issue.

I used to have to have my keyboards flat, a habit learned from years of using laptops. If actually make an effort to type properly though, and lift my wrists properly, not only can I type faster, I find it alot more comfortable if I have a little bit of pitch on the keyboard.

Now I'm torn between the Poker and the Noppoo. A notion has been stirring in my mind that I can buy both, try them out for a few weeks to see which one I like better, and sell the other one. The danger with this approach is that I might like them both, and then I'll have the start of a serious keyboard collection. In regular mode, it outputs ` or ~ normally, and Escape with the FN key.Oh that sucks, I use ~ and esc all the time. I was assuming it would behave the way you described it.
In escape-lock mode, it outputs Escape always, even with FN key pressed. For vi/unix users, who rely on escape a lot but still want easy access to backticks/tilde, it would be very convenient to reverse the behavior in Escape-lock mode, and have FN+the escape key output `/~

Odd. Just got a letter from customs. The packages are being held and need a "formal entry". I called them and it turns out, I have to drive down to Chicago and hand them paperwork in person. Once that is complete, I can't even bring the keyboards back with me. They release them back to USPS for delivery.
That is some messed up stuff.That sucks. Looking at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection info about filing an formal entry (https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/214/~/filing-an-formal-entry-%28for-goods-valued-at-$2000-or-more%29), it's not really clear at first that going in person is required but it does say "Bring the paperwork and bond to the CBP port, entry branch, and ask an entry specialist to review your completed forms."

They seem dead set on burying me with paperwork. Additionally, if they require proof of FCC certification, we are screwed.Our gov't making as much sense as ever: If they are going to require FCC certification...they already let ONE keyboard through, the rest is just numbers! Their carelessness may have already screwed our highly protected North American bandwidth!
I'm about an hour into the paperwork/interrogation. I'm still rating our chances at 50%.

The caps lock LED is blinding. I stuck a piece of black duct tape on the underside of the keycap, it dims it really nice.I agree. I might try that.

Yes, except I got most of my LEDs backwards. I've been too lazy to go back in there an fix them. But it works really well as an ergo clear board :)Can you explain how you did it? I certainly feel the difference from brown to red. I know reds got a lot of flak for being over hyped, but I really enjoy these. They feel very smooth, wich I love. I did some gaming on it. I've said this before, but I think you really don't notice the feel of the keys when you play. My browns WASD cluster were wearing out, and some keys like s and d (strafe jumping lulz) are nearly linear. So I really think red is a good step forward. And damn do they feel soft, it's like typing on a pillow... or cloud of boobs. :D
