Also dorkvader, be sure that the keys are firmly pressed so that they are fully-seated. That is most likely the issue.
No I'm 100% sure it's not. I tried that first, then took two off and compared them side by side. The QWE-row and ASD-row are pretty similar, but both are pretty different from the ZXC-row. I'll take pictures that will explain all.

Edit: Pictures attached. I think the shot of it on the keyboard is especially revealing.
Looking at it, it looks similar to the ASD-row. It "looks" like it might be a little off from that, but it could be just me. I haven't measured it.

It's still fairly evident about the profile here, and the "V" is immediately obvious.

B and V are from the same row, ofcourse.
F and V appear to have the same (or almost the same) profile
This is also evident from pictures of the bottom (showing the keystem) but I didn't think to take any.
Luckily for me, the V is not very commonly used.
