Sleuth your colour is WAY off....

I just got mine in. They are amazing! The colour is much better than any of the pictures. Some good things:

The three blank modifers are great. Take THAT windowskey!

Two bad things:
1. The backspace is a little bit off. I am just fine to live with it, because it's hardly noticeable, but if we're replacing them, might as well add mine in.
2. The "V" key is the wrong profile (same as ASDF...) This is kind of a big deal for me. I can take a picture of this if necessary, it's blatant.

Thanks to \KL for this GB!

You're welcome! Replacement Backspaces are coming. The wrong profile issue is a new one - can you maybe take a photo to show me what you mean?

Okay, KL  Bongo is shipping my set pretty soon, and if my backspace key needs to be replaced.  Could you send me a replacement directly?

No, I will be sending replacements to Bongo directly. I believe he only needed 2 replacements out of his six sets.

Also dorkvader, be sure that the keys are firmly pressed so that they are fully-seated. That is most likely the issue.

No I'm 100% sure it's not. I tried that first, then took two off and compared them side by side. The QWE-row and ASD-row are pretty similar, but both are pretty different from the ZXC-row. I'll take pictures that will explain all.

---
Edit: Pictures attached. I think the shot of it on the keyboard is especially revealing.

Looking at it, it looks similar to the ASD-row. It "looks" like it might be a little off from that, but it could be just me. I haven't measured it.

You can really see the difference here

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 34482[/ATTACH]
It's still fairly evident about the profile here, and the "V" is immediately obvious.

---
B and V are from the same row, ofcourse.
F and V appear to have the same (or almost the same) profile
This is also evident from pictures of the bottom (showing the keystem) but I didn't think to take any.
Luckily for me, the V is not very commonly used.
---
Since my room is a little darker, the colour looks great.

Recieved the keys today, it looks great!

My right shift doesn't seem to fit exactly, it is very stiff to press down and it squeaks. I don't use it anyway, so not too big of a deal.

Other than that, perfect set!

This happened with my spacebar and I reseated it and it was fine.  Might want to try that, not sure what was rubbing, but it fixed it.

I have a feeling that they arrived at my work yesterday and the building mail people were just too lazy to do anything with them.

On mine, the costar inserts were pretty easy to add, which was pretty cool.

Heh, I have to ask my work if I can get stuff shipped there. The warehouse guys run parts for laptop repair over to our half of the building twice daily. They're always really snarky about it, too.

As I suspected, they look super-excellent in my dimly-lit room.

YEAH!

They arrived just 5 minutes ago. Pretty fast. Adding them now to the Poker and my Backspace is just well done.

Pics:

I had to dismount the estabilizers before replacing the spacebar, holy **** those fit too tight on the stem. We can see the colour differences with the spacebar on the pic.

He actually did. In my package it was writen but it couldn't be read at all since it was already faded. I can read something like $90 if I'm not wrong.

BTW those PBT keycaps from Signature plastics feel a lot better than their ABS keys. Just for the record the light coming from the leds on the poker won't go trough the PBT keycaps but it will go trough the ABS spacebar.

Hey \KL, mine hasn't shown up yet at my office, which seems odd since people in Spain have already received theirs. :) Can you please double-check the delivery confirmation and the address you shipped to for me? Please PM me the info. I suspect something has happened between the post office and my company's mailbox, but I need that info before I can try to do anything about it. Thanks!

USPS has been incredibly slow lately. Might be the holiday rush?

i've been getting priority packages lasting almost a week(when it's usually 2-3 days tops) with absolutely no updates from their tracking until 5 minutes after the package was received

Oh ****.. I had two sets, which means if he wrote the exact value, the package is going to be held at the customs and I'll have to pay a ton of tax. (usually around 18% for packages over $150)..

@gimpster - sorry, there was actually a delay with your package. After I sent it out it ended up coming back to me saying "Undeliverable - no postage". I found out that the guy at the post office the day I sent it (Jim) was apparently new and tried to send your package without applying the postage. So, it did get sent out again last Saturday, at a much higher priority since Jim had ended up screwing me on the shipping. You should get them this week.

So, for all the US orders I paid much more for shipping than I should have thanks to this noob.
****ing USPS...

Just got my keys - I'm happy with the material and feel of them, however the color isn't what I expected.  Consider it's literally impossible show an accurate color through images it's reasonable for this to happen.  I've managed to have 5? (maybe 4) different shades of blue on the left side of my keyboard hahahah.  Color clashing is a good thing right?

p.s. I also have a crooked Backspace key

I agree. Ripster thinks I'm wrong, but what does he know? I would like to note, though, that the red lights on my CMstorm does shine through the white PBT just a little. I think it's great that they use a different mold. The 'sprue mark' is on the back, where it should be. They certainly "seem" thicker, though I'm currently missing my micrometer, and of course, they feel much better.

Do you mean that your colours are different in real life? I know mine change a lot based on ambient lighting (just like a peridot!) but all appear to be the same colour to me. Are you sure you're not a female and/or a tetrachomid?

I might put the original spacebar back on my CMstorm, as i like the profile better. maybe I'll put in on upside down..?

Love the feel of the keys... didnt get a crooked backspace or at least it looks straight to me.. hahaha.

One thing that I found odd was did anyone else get extra blank modifier keys? I got like 3 of them and wasnt expecting it...

Checked my set today. Backspace is crooked, not terribly, but noticeably so. Also, for the life of me I can't get the Costar stabilizer inserts all the way into the stems on the Enter key. Is this just a general issue with the SP low profile keys?

Good point on the backspace. It's crooked on mine. not "bad" but it is noticeable. I didn't have TOO bad a time with the inserts, but there were pretty hard to get in one some of the keys (especially the spacebar). I would recommend buying some extra inserts from WASD just in case. Then, with added security, jam them in there with a pliers if needs be.

@jpm804, yeah, my box was "open" as well, but since it was folded over so far I felt pretty secure that everything was safe.

Checked my set today. Backspace is crooked, not terribly, but noticeably so. Also, for the life of me I can't get the Costar stabilizer inserts all the way into the stems on the Enter key. Is this just a general issue with the SP low profile keys?

I have this very same issue right now, I don't think you can jam them in harder, as it appears that the plastics inserts are in all the way.

Much appreciated for the update and please, let me know how much extra the shipping was, I'm happy to cover it.

In other news, a family emergency occurred this week and I'm extremely busy so if you have individual requests/questions/etc., please shoot me a PM or email to kl@keyboardlover.com and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

I hope everything's alright on your end mate

Just received the keys in New Zealand and they're fantastic

I got a wonky backspace key but there's no rush for that, give us a shout when everything has settled down on your side!
Thanks KL!

Finally got the keys today! It looks like I actually should've had them over a week ago, but they took the scenic route. The USPS tracking says:
Dec 5 - Jersey City, NJ
Dec 8 - Federal Way, WA
Dec 11 - Jersey City, NJ
Dec 12 - Jersey City, NJ
Dec 13 - New York, NY (Delivered! Although apparently they stayed in the mailroom for a day)

The package was a bit beaten up, but the keys were fine. The printing on the backspace is sliiightly tilted, but it's only noticeable if you're looking for it, so I think I'll live. The enter key is a bit sticky on the Leopold with blues that I've got the keycaps on though. Other enter keycaps are fine with the keyboard, and this blue enter keycap seems fine on other keyboards, so it's just the combination that's the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing it? Should I keep pounding away at the enter in hopes that it will eventually cooperate? It's too sticky to be able to reliably use at the moment.

Other than the sticky enter when used with this keyboard, the keys are great. Thanks, KL! I hope the family emergency ends up being okay.

My keys showed up at my office this afternoon. Thanks \KL!! The keys look great.

My backspace is a crooked one, though.

I also noticed that the quotes key seems to have an odd orientation. It's not completely upside down, because the double-quote and single-quote are still stacked properly, but the thick part of the quotes seems to be on the wrong side (bottom vs top). This may be intentional, it just looks odd to me and thought I'd report it in case it is a mistake.

Why didn't you use your spacebar?

I'm going to remove mine: it's too sharp. I'll see if I can reverse it first.

Also, I forgot to mention: the apostrophe half of the "' key is upside down. Looking at my unicomp board it looks like a raised comma (right next to the real comma) I remember seeing it, but forgot to post.

But three bad keys out of 87 isn't too bad!

HAhaha I didn't even notice that issue with the apostrophe.  It look more like a tiny 66 then a tiny 99 as it should.  I'm really not too worried about that though
