Title: 108 key set
Post by: typo on Sat, 30 September 2017, 22:51:16
Is there a 108 key Cherry stem set with legends in Double Shot PBT compatible with backlighting? You know what it is for lol. The stock keys are GMK and certainly by no means bad.

I suppose no one will answer since it does not exist. "dressing it up" does not appeal to me. It must be all caps. It looks like the only possible option is to harvest a Plum. IMO, that would be stupid as the GMK are better. They are in fact GMK and not Ducky. Look like ducky but much different. Complaining about GMK is honestly stupid as well. Oh well.

Have you looked at the Vortex/IKBC set?  You can buy it directly from IKBC. It's doubleshot PBT with translucent POM legends.  I had a set on a Cherry MX Board 6.0 for a while, and they're very nice.  The set contains a lot more than 108 keys.

Eh, I actually put custom GMK's of all things. I just missed your post! Besides, are Vortex the same kind of quality? Being PBT should be better to me but The GMK's are much more costly. I have no idea. I thought those Vortex are on like Razer, Corsair etc.? Lubed and ringed it feels pretty good. I have to wait for the shiny goodness people speak of I guess.

Vortex keycaps are definitely uglier than GMKs and don't look or feel as expensive.  Personally, I can't stand when my keycaps get shiny, so I prefer PBT, but I have a Cherry G80 with a few GMK modifier keys, and they're extremely nice.  I figure that since they're modifiers, they won't get used as much and won't get shiny for quite a while.

Yeah the keycap you asked for doesn't exist.  Also GMK are not backlit compatible (they never made translucent legends).

Your best bet is to wait for a GMK group buy and then purchase extra kits (for example, like novelty kits, or media kits..... etc) to fill the extra 4 keys.

OR this might sound crazy but...... might actually be easier to get a 104 keyboard instead.  :P

I got GMK's from someone I know. I actually prefer glowing under the keys but I did expect them to light up LOL. I Dunno. I lubed and Oringed this and I kind of really like it! Yes, the extra keys are stupid on this but it is what it is. It is not really for typing or gaming.
