That would have been a massive collection had you kept them all.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hmm, well TBH, the old "hip" demik was kind of a jerk, IIRC.  This new demik is kind of neat.  I like this new demik.  This new demik is still outspoken about his opinions, but is now, for the most part, respectful of other people.  Which is the way everybody should be.

I wish this new demik had his old HHKB back too.

It was a really nice one.  (Type-S? I dunno.)

This is the one I'm talking about:

Maybe new demik should buy a new HHKB?

Due to the fall in value of the Japanese Yen, the HHKB's at EK are more affordable now than they were back in the day.

regular ol' hhkb. type S is too rich for my blood. and yeah i think i'll eventually get another hhkb since they are pretty cheap on EK. but i have to pay sales tax :(

and demik is always a jerk, just now he knows when to be a jerk and when not to :P

I dunno guys, jerk demik may be gone forever.  I tried to argue with new demik a few days ago and he was argumentative to be sure, but he was respectful and mature, almost like a fully evolved human being.  So I think it's too late to save jerk demik.  Maybe if new demik gets drunk enough, jerk demik comes out?  Like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

All my boards have gone to people that appreciate them more than I did. While it was cool owning them all it got to the point where I just used one and everything else was in my closet collecting dust.

Although I fear this sentiment for when I start to amass a collection, I hope to design display case that I can use to showcase the boards not in use, as well as swap out from time to time. There's a local shop that does acrylic work that's designed a retail display quite similar to what I could use for the keyboards, so it should be interesting once I get to that point.

I had something similar when I collected sneakers. But then as I stopped being interested in them it just became a reminded of money wasted.

There is a GHer/DT member that has a really nice display of his keyboards. Forgot his name though.

Ghetto greens are black spring blue stem. Or better known as cherry bruise!

But here I mean blue (or green) with clear springs.
