I noticed that GH thing at the beginning too, I think it's pretty cool that they chose GH of all sites.

At like one minute in the guy is holding a box with a few buttons that look like emergency stop on it. I wonder what he's actually doing. I've never seen something like that before.

At about two minutes in, he's cleaning the tops in the vats of chemicals. WHY IS HE NOT WEARING GLOVES??? I'm pretty sure I don't want various acids all over my hand. #somanly

I believe he was manually aligning the CNC machine. Towards the end of the scene, he turned the knob and the machine backed away. And I guess the red button is indeed an emergency stop button.

I don't think those are chemical vats. Probably just hot water baths to wash the remaining aluminum bits and shreds.  :thumb:

Yep, he is manually setting the origin reference point ("zeroing") for the CNC machine.

The last vats are usually just water for rinsing off residual chemicals but still...gloves would help..."prevention is better than cure" :))

There are still a few around.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah, but I already have a Shine 2 and can't justify replacing it just for an aluminum top case.

Oh oh oh did you see that gold one in the video...Ducky Tuhaojin?  Now that I think I can justify since it will match BlingBrotm!

Found it!  The Ducky Gold Edition:

Saw it listed at SGD339 (~USD267.71) with an ETA of late Jan 2014.  More pics at: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=52783

Wow amazing to see a big keyboard manufacturer using aluminum. Going to hopefully drive down the prices of newer manufactured Korean and Chinese made aluminum cases.
