Mazda 2 is too close to my fiesta.

I'd honestly just get the 3 wagon if I was going Mazda. Or even one of their smaller SUVs.

And yeah, I want something with a better range of wheels. FiSTs lug combo is so stupid.

Totally understandable.  If that is the case, the 3 is the easy choice for me.  5x114 is on everything - tons of quality wheels all over CL.  Coilover kit is cheap too.

Some 18x8/9 wheels, a simple lip spoiler kit, window visors, and some vinyl for the roof =

So yesterday was not a good day. Unwired my foglights to take my grille off and almost broke the wiring connections (well, did break them then fixed them again) then the jack kept slipping as it had been raining and then the angled ring spanners I bought didn't have the one size i needed. It went up in increments of 1mm from about 11mm up to 20mm, then jumped to 22mm. I needed 21mm...

Tried a socket but it just felt like I was twisting the alan key bolt that comes out the top of the strut so I just stopped :(  I think i'm just going to have to get my garage to do it for me...

Also I got my quote back for my wheels. 290GBP per wheel. Owch.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Much better to do strut tops with a high power impact driver.  Do you have a buddy with one you can use?

Unfortunately not. The guide I was using from another guy who had done his own coilovers on his Mk2 had said to use angled ring spanners, I guess instead of impact drivers. My garage is pretty good tbf, but I would have liked to have done it myself... Luckily these coilovers have a 22mm top mount bolt so I won't have any trouble removing it if I need to :P

Just had a quote for £150 a wheel for powder coating as well as restoration

Might have to go for that instead of the copper plating as it looks pretty much the same but will be a lot more durable...

Yeah, I was just saying that Mazda and Ford are both owned by Ford.  They are very close in comparison.  It's almost like flipping a coin now.

They definitely all fall into a very similar styling. I'll agree. But in general, I can always see different lines between manufacturers. Ford cars always have the same lines, which are different from Chevy, and different from Toyota.

But that's the thing, you have got your point across. This isn't a discussion about which is better anymore, because we like what we like, and you like what you like, so what are you trying to prove? You've made the "I'm more grown up than you" argument, you've made the "My cars are more practical" argument, and it makes no difference because we just don't care.

So just ****ing stop.

And you speak for everyone? The end-all be-all of argument enders.  I didn't "prove" anything. My point was if you are considering doing this type of project, be aware of the fact that you are going to have to drive that vehicle. I have pointed out many times why you shouldn't do this. If you decide to just go ahead and do this despite what I have warned you about, don't say I didn't warn you after the fact.

Snowdog, I understand what you are saying, but please don't feel the need to make the point every time it comes up.  I think everyone that frequents this thread knows your opinion on the matter by now, there's no need to mention it every time someone posts a stanced car.  Yes, it's a perfectly valid opinion, it just doesn't need to be mentioned every time.

Now let's get back to the sexy car pics, everyone, mmkay?  :thumb:
