Thanks(?) to your many requests,

We're working on a sample of VE.A 2nd's PCB

We're still seeing some modifications.

First, all SATA + USB mini-connectors were changed to USB - C.

And, PCB patterns are being organized.

This is not a finished product.

It's about 90% complete.

Will there be blocker options on this board?

We are testing to deal with any situations that
could damage the circuit,
cause abnormal operation,
or cause over-voltage conditions.

Although we have prepared the over-voltage blocking option,
which is the reference for USB-C,
it will be accurate if we test it a little more.

The software should still use bootmapper.

I'm not a big fan of the two extra columns to the left. I would also like to have a sperator between left arrow and the modifier key next to it.

Glad to see USB-C as an option. Is that for powering the board or for connecting the two sides?

Good news that VE.A 2 is going to get type-c support for all connectors. I guess it's for the better, losing the iconic SATA connector.

What about software, still going to be using bootmapper? Would hope that we could change that too. Not sure who is the creator of bootmapper and since winkeyless have closed, if possible, maybe change the way on how to configure the board to some of the newer and latest way. QMK? etc.

This will be unpopular opinion but qmk blows ass for new users and is not friendly whatsoever.. boot mapper works 99% of all users without needing a programming degree in order to get the damn thing working. I have no idea why anyone prefers qmk over any of the more simple interface is out there.

Personally, I like QMK; I've never really had a problem getting it set up, and the interface is plenty user friendly for my needs? I've only recently started modding boards and it really wasn't difficult to get started. Documentation is great too.

Anywho, very happy that this is coming!

Personally, taking away those columns takes away a good part of the charm for these keyboards.

A separator I can agree with.

And as previously mentioned, hopefully a revision to the acrylic diffuser lines and the badge/logo as well so it looks more elegant.

It would be unbalanced without the left columns.

I'm loving the update!! Very excited that progress is being made.

Regarding the firmware, I am torn, I like qmk for it's power, but it is so annoying how hard it is to use. Bootmapper I think will work just fine.
He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.

I’m interested in this but downloading an executable off Dropbox to program makes me real nervous. Would bootmapper client be the only way?

Edit:
I'm confused. If the layout is available in QMK you can just go to https://config.qmk.fm and pick the layout and configure. Click "compile" and download the firmware and then flash with dfu-programmer command line tool or qmk toolbox.

It doesn't seem like you have to manually build the firmware if you don't want to.

I'd have interest in this.
Someone apparently went up to the great philosopher Wittgenstein and said "What a lot of morons people back in the Middle Ages must have been to have looked, every morning, at the dawn and to have thought what they were seeing was the Sun going around the Earth, when every school kid knows that the Earth goes around the Sun", to which Wittgenstein replied "Yeah, but I wonder what it would have looked like if the Sun had been going around the Earth?"

Would be in for one if it can handle peak 150wpm (600-800 key presses) without dropping input or rolling over. See that it is an issue from V1 as well as other single-controller split keyboards that I own. (my deltasplit and quefrency boards don't have the issue)

Check your debounce settings. Iirc, the default setting isn't optimal and can cause these issues.

In 100%.

Only thing I hope changes are the shifting lines around the acrylic diffuser in the front/back, the -=-=-=- look.

It looks busy and "gamer" compared to the original which is not what you generally desire with a $400+ keyboard. V2 already looks different with the tenting, logo, etc.

Re: QMK, just use the configurator. Yes, it's not quite as easy as Bootmapper, but nowadays it's pretty close. Winkeyless.kr doesn't even operate anymore outside of Korea.

Thanks for the update, these are good changes. Is there any chance of a plate material other than stainless steel? I think aluminum might be more suitable for most people nowadays.

It would also be nice to see some more detail on the tenting system (not sure if that's been posted already).
