If I'm not mistaken, the CTRL ALT store is giving us different options than the initial GB.

The initial GB stated we had to purchase the alphas before adding anything else on.

It seems the store is now giving us the choice to purchase any of the keys or none of them, in the event you want only the cable.

I love it when I wake up in the morning and see 50 post in this thread. My heart starts to pump faster as I read with more anticipation. It's a good wake up call.

I don't remember reading anywhere that you had to order a base set to get a cable?  Link?

There was a requirement that you had to order at least base + mods to be eligible for the BroBots.

Holy ****, it's actually happening.  Amazing!

Yep, and not only is it happening, but we have BroBots too! :)

Which, unfortunately, you might have missed if you intend ordering and only now found the GB :(

pls, Bunny

Also, the smaller off-center legend that 7bit used in Round 4 would be more authentic than the huge centered one:

I think if Bunny added the option for 7bit symbol legends to the GB I would probably die.  For two reasons.

1.  Way to much exictement for one set of caps.
2.  The wallet would kill me.

I am really curious what awesome stuff you still have in your sleeve Bunny :)

Unfortunately I'll be on the road later tonight, so I will probably miss the annoucement.

I hope it's nothing limited that will be sold on a "first come first serve" basis?

hi there,

if i don't want to have the alpaha-kit, ihave to spend 32$ to have a yellow 6.25 space bar, right? I know, the kit includes a lot of space bars, but i can't use them.

Mhhh... i thought of just using the modifiers set and the numpad set together with my white-on-black-round4-caps. But you are right, they won't look nearly as good as with the alpha set.

Bunny, I'm sorry it's taking me so long to send you over the cash for the Brobots, I'm just a little low on cash right now. But I will get it to you before the week is up.

Oh and are the brobots going to ship in the same package as the keycap set? And how long does production usually take?

I'm sorry but the organization of the legends in the "new" GB are worse than the original cut.

One should be able to get a normal kit with the minimum investment.  That means that 1 set of alphas and 1 set of mods should give you complete coverage on a TKL with the cherry legends.  The silly, non-standard graphics should be special keys -- either included in addition to the normal legends, or in a special pack.

The Toxic stripe is particularly ugly, requiring me to get alphas, grey mods, and stripe... and then the toxic mods just to get that normal backspace.

Also, there is no 1x Windows key at all.  Even if I buy alphas, mods, tsangan, and specials, I won't be able to have a "normal" looking keyset on my 1.5x 86-key boards.  I'd have to use the bubbles, or perhaps GeekHack keys.

I'm sorry but the organization of the legends in the "new" GB are worse than the original cut.

seems like this isnt a groupbuy for you

Meatball, your knee-jerk reactions to anyone who isn't drinking the kool-aid are obvious and usually completely without merit.  There is nothing unreasonable about wanting the standard Cherry legends, as evidenced by the fact that a special pack was created just to provide them!

It's not an issue of entitlement, its criticism as to the way the kits were split.  Is it your belief that certain members should be above criticism?  That kind of aristocracy has no place here or anywhere else in the civilized world.

I believe a good effort should be made to cover the basics with a modest investment.  That's something that is good for everyone.  You would have to be very persuasive to convince me that is unreasonable.

Right, because this response isn't a 'knee-jerk' reaction. Hue.

It is self-entitlement, because the plans for the GB were already laid out, and you were give the options that were available. But since it didn't include your ideal setup, you saw it fit criticize the GB because it didn't fit your needs. You can simply not participate, if it isn't what you are looking for. The special legends are what this buy is about. If you don't like them, then as Bunny said - this buy probably isn't for you.

There are 2 1x keys in the Tsangan kit btw. But I think you wanted the original Windows logo on the 1x and not the toxic graphic?

While I think everyone has a right to express criticism, I also think that you could have done it more tastefully. You could have just as easily said you really would have liked to participate in the buy if there had been a way to get a full TKL set with cherry legends more economically, instead of calling potions of the kit ugly, and the custom legends that many folks here are looking forward to, silly.

On another note, Bunny, and tidbits of info on when we all might expect to hear your two special announcements? The anticipation is too much!

A valid criticism loses credibility when it is expressed in a rather rude way.

ok so ill actually chime in on a few things

"I believe a good effort should be made to cover the basics with a modest investment."

we made a good effort, a huge amount of time went into planning, we also released the mockups before the buy, and amended them based on the community feedback, no realistic or reasonable change was ignored prior to going live

"There is nothing unreasonable about wanting the standard Cherry legends"

quite correct sir, which is why we included them, as well as added more that people requested, we made a special pack just for that, the reason its in a pack and not in with the main kit, is because the majority of people wanted the custom modifiers, however, in order to please the minority that didnt want them, we made that pack to cover you

"as evidenced by the fact that a special pack was created just to provide them"

correct, a pack was made and these legends were included in it, lots of people are grateful for its inclusion and the extra options and layouts it provides

"I'm sorry but the organization of the legends in the "new" GB are worse than the original cut."

this is a pretty funny statement, the legends you want are not even in the original groupbuy, so buy adding additional legends that you actually want, my organization is bad

"One should be able to get a normal kit with the minimum investment"

you can, that is why for additional keys not needed for the tenkeyless set we have provided, we made a seperate pack, to keep the investment to a minimum for people who just want the standard "toxic" set

"The silly, non-standard graphics should be special keys"

as with the original buy, these legends are an intrinsic part of this set, im not entirely sure what you thought this buy was about in the first place, that being said, i do understand not everyones taste is the same, which is why we made it possible, unlike the original buy, for you to make a keyset without the toxic themed legends, if you just happen to like the colorway

"either included in addition to the normal legends"

doesnt this go against your point about getting a set for minimal investment

"The Toxic stripe is particularly ugly"

dont order it then

"requiring me to get alphas, grey mods, and stripe... and then the toxic mods just to get that normal backspace"

you are not required to get anything sir, and if the stripe is so ugly, why would you wanna buy toxic mods just to get a backspace for a part of the kit you dont like
