KBD75 v3.1 Alternatives?
« on: Sat, 01 April 2023, 17:50:34 »
I recently was looking for a nice minimalistic yet snazzy keyboard kit and I found the KBD75 v3.1, but it said that it was discontinued.

Does anyone have any information on whether or not it is completely discontinued, or will be restocked in the upcoming months?

Also if it is completely discontinued, are there any good alternatives to this keyboard that has a similar aesthetic and size?

I think it has been discontinued for some time now.

The Keychron K2 and K2 Pro have a similar 75% non-exploded layout.

There are several similar kits on AliExpress, search for YMD75V3 or YMDK 84 for example.

I had just bought a second aluminum shell for my KBD75 in the autumn, so it was quite a shock when it was discontinued at the end of last year.  I planned to base most of my group buy keycap sets that are starting to arrive on swapping aluminum colored shells on the KBD75 because it was a great format with great colors that seemed to have longevity.  Now I have to either buy another stupidly expensive but more limited $$$ base kit or just give up and resort to tacky spraypaint jobs.  :(
