NIB IBM Industrial Model M from December 1988
« on: Sun, 28 December 2014, 13:31:56 »
Here's my photos of a NIB IBM Industrial Model M from December 1988 - this one has the rarer Black Square Logo on the upper right hand side.

I no longer have this one but it was one of the rarer keyboards I've owned.  I don't know of too many pre-1988 NIB Industrial Model Ms.    This one has the wire stabilizers on the vertical + and Enter keys and the wires connecting the LED board.  I also opened up the keyboard.

 That's gorgeous. I so want an industrial Model M, but I can't justify the $1,000 for the only one currently on the market, that SSK that I'm sure everyone here has bookmarked. :P

Xonar - I'm also the seller of that Industrial SSK.  I'll post some high res photos of that keyboard so you can see one in better resolution than what eBay provides.

There's a $99.99 "outside of eBay" discount for DT and GH forum members!

You're killing me with all these new or near new Model M :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
