Unicorn Vomit thread here I come!

The keys below the keyboard should have been added as well, but non standard stabilizers prevent me from doing so, and the tilde key would make the balance uneven. As it is I am thinking of putting Tab and Alt keys back to black as the font mismatch is annoying me, which means |\ is going to have to be changed as well.

The control keys are WASD circle textured but you can't see it in the potato pic.
Wow. That, strangely, makes that board look a lot more appealing than it did with the old caps, IMO. Nice job.

Thanks Smallfry, I appreciate that someone likes my caps haha.

It seems my tastes differ to almost everyone here lol, but I am just being me and buying what I like. I feel too many people buy the popular option just because it is popular and they don't want to be judged.

I am and always be myself and make opinions based on my own judgement.

Nah, the "unicorn vomit" is a nice look for that keyboard. I don't know exactly what it is about it, just looks a bit better with the rainbow, than in black. Shame about the stabs, sorry to hear that.

That is probably true, hence why the Filcos don't look as nice with them. Even my Leo with rainbow PBT alphas seems off a bit.

Yeah I must admit I designed the caps around the board, and I do not think they would work on a sleeker board, which is why I was disappointed by the propietary stabalizer design. Thankfully they are all white keys so I can easily use them on another board.

I will just need to see if WASD will do me a couple of matching Ctrl keys as I was designing the set for this board which uses 1.5 Ctrl keys, I got the spare 1.25 mods as an extra set of Windows modifiers.

I think the black surround looks better myself, i was disappointed at first but I have grown to like it and I am glad someone here had something nice to say. Negative comments have little effect on me but positive comments make me happy so I don't mind getting either. I just seem to get a lot more of the former than the latter.   :))

I'm not sure if I liked it better before or after... IMO a dolch style set might have looked better as it might had made it look more like a proper board used by the millitary or something...

it looks massive though lol

Yeah it is pretty big, with the numpad detached it is a more comfortable size. I actually prefer the numpad on the left but I haven't set up macros on it yet so have left it in the default position for now.

I do like the Idea of a Dolch set on it, I may grab one when funds allow just to see how it looks  ;D

It's hard to see in the pic, but it's red/blue Lego with just a clear layer on top.
Had to wait two weeks to get them in the mail. Wasn't aware they were shipping from Poland :p

Thanks guys :) Nothing is impossible!
Glissant, honestly, I'm not sure if I have my notes laying around. But just by looking at what I used, I can get estimates of how much of what pieces are needed.
Inside I used normal hight 1x4 blocks, due to this the case is pretty tall, needs a wrist rest. To alleviate this problem, I would need more 1x4 plate pieces to create supports inside at different heights, thereby putting the pcb on an angle. Then would need to stagger the sides as well. I'll probably work on that for V.2.0

I added a Topre yellow Esc to my QFR:

Yes it fits, and the key still works, but after a brief lol I removed it and put a Smile! on there instead (as the QFR has now become my main keyboard).

So the Ducky has become my keycap display vomit board:

ANd with the brightness turned up full:

THe G and H are too low profile compared to the Ducky OEM caps, but all the others are fine.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

On the Lego websites store you can 'pick a brick' and pretty much buy any quantity of pieces.
Took about an hour to put it together.
Bottom is one thin layer with another layer around the edge and middle for support. And an extra at the back to angle the case.
I'll try to get more pics up tomorrow.

Anyone know how to resize pics?

Using the IMG tag. You can set either the width or the height, and the system resizes the image to the correct aspect ratio. Or you can specify both width and height, if you want.

Code: [Select]

Heh, I have been thinking about building my Phantom case out of Legos until I get my acrylic cut, but $60 for a poker case is expensive, albeit $60 for a temporary case. :/
