Technically did it yesterday but was too exhausted to post it then.

I made lubing/modding stations for two people. Really happy with the result, hopefully they'll be too.  :))

neat, got pics of that somewhere?

One plate is 7×8 and other is 8×8. Made them at my friends workplace. Nothing special.

ok, could you also do a station that has special places to hold the springs and switch tops and maybe even the lube and brushes/swabs?

Well, if you're not in a hurry, I could try. If you give me couple of weeks and let me know the hole sizes and such. Firstly I should get the right acrylic plate, then make a file for the laser cutter. These were made just by using keyboard layout editor and Swill case&plate builder.

P.S. I'm from EU so would need to figure shipping expenses. Probably best if the station would be modular just so it's easier to package.

Yeah, sure. I'll find out if there's any specific shops that offer laser cutter services just so don't need to trouble my friend all the time. :D

Don't know, don't care. It does the job. P.S. If not burned, the burn marks are vapors on a plastic protective sheet. tp4, you worried I burned that plate?

usually I would leave the sticker on the acrylic if I am not sure how this acrylic will behave too hahaha.. or at least turn the air all the way up..

But I have heard they have a special sticker paper which comes with cast acrylic made specifically for certain laser speed/powerlevels..

I haven't see this stuff sold anywhere,  I just heard it exists.

Yeah, the burned parts are just  a sticker. It starts to flame a little when it there's little material around the laser, the acrylic get too hot and stuff like that.

Thanks dude. It will be a huge step towards my dream job if I do get it, but it requires quite a bit of knowledge of Unix and Linux which i'm not hugely familiar with so i wouldn't be surprised if nothing comes of it.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Is it flushed with just water ?

How do you remove the buildup if there is any?

By 'flushing' I mean just opening them up like the FD would do and let 600 gal/min flow out to make sure the hydrant operates correctly and that the water isn't too muddy/dirty. If it is a little dirty you just let it run until it's clear.

The pipes that go to hydrants are not only for hydrants, they go to houses as well.

If there were buildup enough to cause blockage, it would have cause a major issue like pipeline breakage.

How long is the run from the main pipe Up to the fire hydrant usually..

Is there 600 gallons just sitting in that run ?

I'm not really sure actually. 10ft, maybe 20ft, I don't actually know. The 600 gal/min is how much you'd get out of any hydrant in the city (give or take a little). They're all connected on one system with like 19 wells.

That's what the General Election does to people!

It's more the referendum last year but yeah ;)

Nice, an intercontinental Googler. What is the job if I may ask?

It's as a Data Centre Hardware engineer in their Hamina DC. Would be awesome to be able to get it.

Why Finland ?

America = Best

Well partly because it will be easier for me in terms of Visas, bank accounts, and logistics to get a job in the EU as opposed to America, but also because there aren't really any entry level/level 1 data centre jobs going in America at the moment. It would be nice to get there eventually but i'm going to try and use this as a stepping stone.

I put antiseptic spray on a child's knee where his scab had been scraped off and gave him a BAND-AID. :(

Today I have a great day, coz I went to the post office and got my parcel. My friend sent me some gifts and post cards from his country- China. I had some problem with parcel because a friend of mine did not know  needed zip code. He told me about it and I recommended him to check all zip code on http://worldpostalcode.com/switzerland/  he was glad that I helped him a lot.

The one in the picture was about 3 1/2ft long, and there was another one close by that had to be another 1ft long.
I usually spot them walking along the sidewalks.
One of my favorite animals down here (That don't live in the ocean) is those bigass Sandhill Crane birds.

Don't you live near Orlando? Do you guys have iguanas running wild in the streets up there?
I grew up in Jacksonville, and we never saw these animals up there.

When I was a bit younger I worked at Pompano Park for a year n change. I still won't forgive myself for running over that one Knight Anole. Still swampy up here in nfl/ncfl. No dinosaurs aside from the occasional turtle or alligator :(
