[IC] GMK Pure
« on: Sun, 23 July 2017, 11:34:55 »
Hey guys,
I'm happy to introduce you to my newly designed GMK set,

GMK Pure

Based on the Pure Syntax theme for the Atom text editor (found here: https://github.com/nkpfstr/pure-syntax)
The focus of the set is the dark purple for the background and the bright pinks and whites as text.

The set will also include white alphas to use instead of the dark, but I believe the dark purple alphas should be included as the base
and the white alphas should be an extra addon. This could definitely change if the light version is more popular though

The Kits:
So, I'm still fairly unfamiliar with how GMK kits work, so let me know if I'm missing keys or need to make some changes.

Base:

Light Alphas:

Possibly some novelties/Syntax pack for different colored mods? Let me know what you think

GMK Pure Dark:

GMK Pure Light:

If there's enough interest, I'll be getting proper renders done for both colorways

Thanks for looking, feedback/criticism is welcome  :thumb:

Yellow and orange match the scheme well, why getting rid of them?

+1 for the white alphas.

Will definitely be swapping them to the base kit if this becomes consensus

I had them in my first design, but I felt like the pink just fit better and I didn't want to take away from that.
However, orange and yellow mods could definitely be included in a separate 'Syntax' pack, if there's interest

Nice to see another purple set.  :thumb:
I prefer the dark version too. I would also get the white alphas if these were offered as an add-on, though.

Edit: the render includes R2 and R3 PgUp keycaps but it looks like it is missing the matching R3 and R4 PgDown caps.

Would have to see a real sample.  That dark of a purple is probably going to turn out almost black. Similar to what happened with the dark blue on GMK penumbra.  Maybe brighten it up just a bit and desaturated ever so slightly?

Having that option would be great, this set's looking good so far.

Please take a look at my thread for alphas pricing.

(74 pcs.) including n.3 spacebars (6u, 6.25u, 7u) should cost about 50 eur. I suggest you to add some keys to your alpha, so it will be more desirable: everyone will want one, and the price will increase only a little. That's how gmk pricing works.

I'm not sure about the super high contrast legends (is it black on white?). Perhaps grey on light grey-beige would be nicer?

I'll check that out
Would that be mainly for people who are only interested in the alpha kit and would be pairing them with mods they already own from other sets?

And the Pure Light alphas are the dark purple on white, reverse of the alphas from the base kit

The alphas must target anyone, but this is necessary, because I higly doubt that you can achieve the MOQ or 150 by targeting only those who bought the main set. Dark purple on white seems nice, but dark purple on gray or very light beige could be nicer.

Unless his are the exact color codes used in the Pure Syntax theme, I believe not.

Re: [IC] GMK Pure | More color options
« Reply #18 on: Sat, 29 July 2017, 12:20:45 »
In an attempt to differentiate this set more, and to include more colors used in the syntax theme, I've made three different versions that would replace the full dark keys in the base kit

1.

2.

3.

Feedback on which one people prefer would be helpful
With this change I'll be moving the dark alphas to a separate kit

I actually really like the simplicity of the original "GMK Pure Light" you have in the OP but out of the 3 above, I like #1 the best.
