Introduction
Hello Geekhack. Today I want to bring to you the Interest Check for the Freyr TKL.
Freyr is a classic Top mount TKL that utilizes the popular A87 form factor, a step back into the era of OTD, LZ, Kustom TKL.
It's a keyboard we can offers at a reasonable price with very short lead time(if not out right in-stock) that can rival many much more expensive customs.
For this revision we update the board with some modern features such as USB-C, plate that support more layouts etc... But it's a yesteryear board (at yesteryear price).

This is not a new design, you may have seen a numbers of Freyr TKL floating around under the tag "prototype" or "Founders Edition" with various degree of finishes, but it had never have a proper GB.
One owner of such prototype brought it up in our Discord (Thanks Eleven), a discussion ensued, people were expressing interests in the boards, a few calls later and long story short, here we are.

Specification:
- 87 Keyboard TKL.
- Top Mount.
- CNC Anodized Aluminum (maybe brass plate and weight depend on level of interests)
- 8 Degree Typing Angle (detailed dimensions in first comment).
- Compatible with many A87 PCB such as the popular h87a.
- Included PCB support MX Switch, QMK/VIA Compatible Atmega32u4-au controller.
- Come in WKL and WK option.
- ~1.7kg unbuilt (aluminum plate and weight, no PCB).

Pricing:
Base kit include: Top case + bottom case + aluminum plate + aluminum weight + accessories (screws, bump on, etc.)
- Base kit without PCB : $295 + shipping + PayPal fee (or other payment fee).
- Base kit with PCB: $325 + shipping + PayPal fee (or other payment fee).
- Extra PCB : TBA
- Extra plate, weight: TBA.
- Shipping price: due to the pandemic and current suspension of some economic shipping option. The shipping price is a bit higher than normal (estimated price for FedEx Priority US-CAN: ~$60-70$, EU: ~$55, Asia: ~$35-50). We have taken this into account in our kit pricing.

- Weight: Black, Rose Red, Silver
- Plate: Black, Rose Red, Silver
- Brass Plate: TBA (depends on IC)

Update: 18/10/2020 Added some FAQs so far below:

FAQs:
1- Will there be gasket mount version/add support for gasket mounting?
A: Freyr is currently Top mount only, we have no plan to add gasket mount support for this board.

2- Will there be hot-swap PCB option?
A: The PCB that we plan to offer with the board doesn't have hot-swap. You will need to mill-maxed the pcb or get a compatible hot-swap 87 pcb.

3- Split backspace and split right shift support?
A: The plate will support PCB with split backspace and split right shift, however the planned PCB will not have split backspace and right shift. You can see the PCB supported layout below.

oh wow! i had a prototype of this and it was a beautiful board!!

I know the brass weight is dependent on IC, but really hope that option makes it through

I had a prototype version of this in gold but sold it because it wasn't WKL. With WKL as an option now I'm really tempted to get another one! The prototype was a really nice sounding board!

Had a Prototype before and Loved it - I sold it due to it not having an WKL option. Interest Check filled out and looking forward to this GB! Potential color options look great so far!

No, production and anodizing is from a different vendor from previous prototypes. The champagne color (if we are doing it) is similar to this

Is the plate proprietary or does it share plates with other top mount TKL's? Basically checking if I can use hiney's FR4 plates

It is MAB. Everyone in Vietnam know this keyboard.
They still have not sent 60S and R96 to customers yet. Many people have not received these kit.

I can confirm that the champagne colour I received on my CB87 (the keyboard shown above) is stunning and better in RL than any picture.

Will the USB cutout fit the Mini USB port on the H87a? Looks like the usbc cutout might not have enough space for the mini usb on the h87a

How do you achieve such short lead times? The manufacturer is able to work that quickly to cnc and anodize?

A number of case are already machined and only waiting to be anodized. We recently held a discord sale that's in-stock and shipped right away. This time you can pick the color so there's lead time.
