PCB support all MX switches on the market. The PCB uses a Mini USB connection.

Your are right, you will need a Case + Plate + Switches + keycaps that support MX switches, you can get what you need on the mechboards site.

Hey all,

I’m sure you’re all super eager to get your HS60. Believe me, I’m trying to get them to you as soon as possible! Sadly my UK supplier of boxes (who said they would be quicker than overseas) have now stated they will ship my delivery of HS60 boxes in the middle of next week – 3 weeks late. I’m just as annoyed as you. Once I get these boxes I will be packing HS60’s LITERALLY ALL DAY until they’re all packed and on their way.

Happy to follow up and say that I scored one of the last remaining HS60 ISO layout PCBs.

(As of now ANSI and HHKB PCBs are out of stock and there's only 3 remaining ISO PCBs.)

Hi,
Got my new HS60 v2 
I was starting to play with it to test it however when I tried to program it with the QMK configurator (https://config.qmk.fm/#/hs60/v2/LAYOUT_60_ansi)
I noticed the resulting "firmware" file is a ".bin" instead of a ".hex" like in my HS60 v1.
My question is can I still flash it with my usual "dfu-programer atmega32u4..."?
Or does it has a different micro and you have to program it in a different way?

So, I learnt the micro is an ARM STM32F303CC.

However I still cannot flash it.

QMK Tools doesn't detect it and "dfu-util" doesn't work for me either...

Anyone got it working and can help me?

If the qxp is gh60 compat then it's should work

If the case has thick standoffs you may have clearance issues with the hotswap sockets. Some people just shave off the middle case stem for compatibility.

Got both of mine today.  Good stuff.  No issues with backlighting screwing up the PCB like R1.

However, I do have an issue on both boards that seems to come and go.  When I first got both of them, the ESC key was mapped to a hex of some sort.  I can't remember it now and I've fixed it, but it showed up in VIA as something like Ex21E4.  Again, it wasn't exactly that.

Anywhoo, I just remapped it to Escape.  However, it seems to come back occasionally, just in the middle of a typing session.  Escape will no longer work and when I load up VIA again, that hex code is there instead of escape. 

I'll keep an eye on it and see how often it continues to happen.  But, does anyone else have this issue?

If you use the MO(1) key and either EF- or EF+ it sets the Esc key to 0x3c29

Actually, I have found that any time you chage lighting effects, the Esc key resets to this value (which does nothing in windows).

Any ideas what is going on?

You'll be able to fix this by following the TO FLASH instructions and updating the PCB.

Okay, so I'm a bit stuck now.

At this point my PCB is unusable

Keep in mind, the HS60v2 stuff doesn't work in qmk toolbox.  The board is listed, but the compiled defaults are not on the repo, so you can't use it.  Also, the .bin files listed on mechboards do not work on these PCBs.

I set up an environment to compile it myself on windows.  As discussed on Keebtalk, you have to pass additional arguments for dfu, or do the build and flash in one step.

I tried the build and flash, passing make hs60/v2:ansi:dfu-util

Build seem to go, .hex was created but an error (probably because I don't think I had it it flashing mode) and qmk toolbox said "invalid dfu suffix signature"

Flashed the .build/hs60_v2_ansi.hex onto the PCB, which apparently was a bad decision.

Now I can't use it at all.  Mac doesn't see it.  Windows says USB malfunction.

I tried to reset but (hold esc, plug, unplug, release esc) but windows just sees it as a malfunctioning USB device.  Idears?

The problem is the firmware loaded on the board is not updated.  So, VIA works great, but, when you change the RGB mode on the board, the Esc key turns into a weird keyboard scan code that doesn't work.  So, each time you change the RGB mode, you have to go back into VIA and set the 0x3c29 back to Esc.  I got two PCBs from the Novelkeys extra sale.  I don't know if the same firmware was on all of the PCBs, but the behavior was the same on both of the boards I recieved.

I think I got it working on my other PCB by compiling my own firmware and adding the additional dfu arguments, but the first one is bricked.

I was able to get it working by holding the bootloader reset button on the back instead of using the Esc while plugging in method.  I think it's fixed and the weird Esc changing on RGB mode change is gone.

Are you hitting the button on the back before you flash it?  Either that or hold esc while you plug it in?
