When talking about an ANSI-only plate are we talking about just skipping ISO-enter compatibility or are we talking about a standard (Filco-esque) ANSI layout only?

In case of the former, I'm interested (though, not at all keen on stainless). In case of the latter, not so much as I want to go full HHKB with split backspace and right shift.

I was talking about ANSI only skipping the ISO Enter.

I'm going to be using a 60 key layout exactly like this

If theres enough interest for an ansi only plate, will CE spots be able to purchase an aluminum one?

I get why carbon plates are available only to CE buyers, but I think aluminum should be open to everyone tbh... :D

Do you want an ansi only plate FoC? I was thinking that it seems like most people would only want ANSI from the CE list, but you were the one that jumped out at me. Could we switch CE to all ANSI if nobody in this group needs ISO support?

Yes, switched to ANSI years ago and never looked back personally.

Filled the form regarding CE plates.
My preference would be ANSI only with split Backspace and R-Shift support, which both should really be supported for a case with hhkb option imo.

I'd love two plates, one ISO and one ANSI, and both with 1.5/1/1.5 type bottom row, like CommonCurt linked.

I agree so much with the fact that "universal" plates are ugly.

This is the different, the only different between plates would be the enter cluster.

At this point I think it would make sense to have two plates, ANSI and ISO. I'll look into it price and color wise.

From the looks of the mockup, the plate won't allow split backspace or split right shift. Is this correct?

While I do prefer ANSI over universal, I would like to utilize the true HHKB layout for my HHKB CE order.

I think he's just using that to show the enter change.

I'm assuming it's going to be standard enter, but universal rectangles for ctrl/alt area, spacebar, right shift, and backspace.

Ahh OK.. I just took a look. I wasn't a fan of the Weaven design so I didn't pay attention after round 1. It looks pretty well executed.

Any plate apart from mine won't work. This isn't a tray mount case. MX PCBs will work as long as they follow the universal standard. This is not Alps compatible due to the plate.

Going to get prices for ANSI only plates (Red, Gold, SS) and ANSI half plates (Red, Gold, SS). No ETA on when I'll get them.

The factory that I've paid haven't been communicating to anywhere near a decent standard. I honestly have no idea what is going on. It's now been a month which is ****ing awful.

I'm looking into an alternate factory right now. I've sent them an email and should hear back over the weekend.

First of all, I have to wait for the prototypes to arrive. If they are of the quality I want, and they can communicate well (which they have been doing) then I think I'll go with them. Production with them has been set for September providing I am happy with what happens between now and when I get the prototypes.

However, the new factory I've been speaking to today are very clear with what they can and can't do, and what they will do. There is another creator on GH that uses this factory (that I didn't know at all), so I know the quality I can expect, which is very high. I'm currently waiting for the 2nd factory to finalize the price for me. If I do switch factory, I will get 1 prototype made with them, just to be sure.

The new factory I have been talking to are able to meet everything in a timely manner. I will be going with them as it's just better overall. Communication has been lacking with the first place, and it's a real off putting element. The colors all look great, and I'll be able to post examples soon - I'm just waiting on permission from someone to show you the dark gray.

Production time is 2-3 weeks, and shipping is 3-5 days. I'll be required to pay an initial, 50% payment in order to get a prototype (which will be #4), confirm that production can go ahead and then pay the 50%/shipping once they're finished production. All of that process theoretically can be done in September which is good news all around.

All we're waiting is for the first 3 prototypes from the 1st factory, and I've been told they'll be done this week so it should set up quite nicely for next month.

I apologise for how long these prototypes are taking, it wasn't what I was told and unfortunately it's out of my control. Gives me time to work on other projects though :))

I also will be doing a small run, probably 5 or 10 of Orion V2 weights. If you're interested, shoot me a PM.

Anodizing samples! I'd say black, red, and silver are pretty hard to get wrong. I've been concerned on getting gold and dark gray right, and with confidence I can say they're going to look great. I'm super happy with the dark gray, read below why.

Black

Red/Silver (far left/centre)

Gold (far left)

Dark Gray

Now obviously, the Dark Gray is the same color as the QAZ30/M36-A; you can find more pictures here. I'd like to thank Rama for letting me use his pictures to show the color. I'm personally very excited on getting my Dark Gray X60. Officially that color is Iron Gray, so not sure if I'll change the name I use, we'll see.

If it's a Founder's Edition I would be interested in upgrading (where's that Google Doc gone?).

As long as that's OK with Xondat of course.
Added it back, accidentally took it out.

We'll see about moving it up.

Will there be a deadline announced for making changes to our order?
Not announced, but I will give plenty of notice. Generally, as long as you haven't paid the rest it's fine to change. Invoices will go out when I publish pictures of the prototype.

Thanks for adding it back, and for considering my proposal.

Getting a bit ahead of myself here, but are the Founder's Editions numbered? Because if I did end up with one, I may have a proposition for the current #17 owner...
