Here's my layout suggestion sans your font choice, can't seem to find it.

Clean as **** - I love it. I'll have this made/mocked up on the weight, and this will most likely be the engraving.

Great to hear!

Also, as you know, Carbon, Founders, and Limited To have differing string lengths. Let me know if you need any input regarding font treatment to accommodate proper alignment  :thumb:

Everything seems to have LEDs/diffusers these days. It's nice to see a decent custom board without.

I say keep it simple with your future projects. There is definitely a place in the market for it and would help to differentiate you from other brands/manufacturers.

That the X60 lacks a diffuser, silly pin hole LEDs and weird shapes is what sold it for me. I don't want a keyboard that can be seen from the moon; I want something subdued, refined and pretty.

Or, in other words:

My first two projects (X60 and X75) were always meant to be simple, clean, and just functional. The aesthetic is that it's simple. I'll always have these simple designs as they're just perfect, and how I like them.

If anyone else has seen the FMJ cases, I've been thinking of doing something similar so I don't "ruin" the simple design. By that I mean I'll have the clean design, and then I'll have an "all-out" version that involves diffusers, more experimental weights, maybe interchangeable parts (different bottom pieces). Nothing has actually been put into CAD yet, but I have a list of things I'd like to do yet wouldn't want for my case, so this would be a good opportunity to experiment whilst maintaining what's important to me and others. X65 may be the first to see this, which is why it was brought forward, but there needs to be a redesign to incorporate more, and there is more development on the PCB side so it's hard to say what will come next.

Sounds good. Is the x65 coming after the x75?

I don't actually know yet.

X75 needed a remodel as I messed an early number up, and X65s PCB is being redesigned (expected January) so I need to change a few things with the case to incorporate the new PCB features. Factors that'll come into which happens first: how I feel, what the market wants, which is finished (if it is), X60 fully shipped, and probably some other stuff too.

If it helps (and things align) this particular piece of the market is ready to purchase an x75.  :)

I'll have all 3 engraving designs prototyped, with different materials and engraving depth, and once I get those I'll approve everything and the 100 will enter production.

The two logos you'll see are the following:

(sometimes without "Co", it depends on the context)

I'll always keep the X, it's something that's going to be absolutely consistent through all my work. There probably won't be a dedicated shape logo though. We did have something early on, but I chose to stop development on it as I was leaning towards a text logo.

This design is classy. I love it! It looks very clean without a "logo," in my opinion.

Looking good there Xondat! This is definitely the keyboard of the year for me.

Would you say the Dark Gray is more of a lighter or darker shade IRL? And do you think that Hasu's Alps64 PCB will fit into the case? I know any other plates won't be compatible but I think I can work on that.

Alps64 should be compatible, the button and USB port placement is essentially the same as any other 60% pcb.

Did you get an hhkb x60 btw? I'm thinking of doing a mini gb for an alps hhkb plate for this case

Ah that's great to hear :)

Sounds awesome! I didn't get an HHKB though. I've got a 60% and planning to build it with my Dell 101 caps. Would be great if you could make it happen in your GB!

I'm still not sure if an Alps plate is possible though, since this isn't a tray-mount case we'd have to use the right thickness for the plate. Normally an Alps plate is about 1.1mm thick so I don't know if it will work properly with a 1.5mm plate (assuming this is what X60 uses).

Hmm you could probably get around this by adding something to where the screws are located. Maybe layering some paper or something like dental bands will do the trick
