Have you thought about making the up arrow keys and all the keys that are meant to be pressed by the thumbs in R3 rather than R4?
Nah, I'm a pretty big fan of R4, both feel and aesthetic wise. I can understand wanting R3, but thats just one of the little details I don't want to change this go around. Another reason not to change as well is that I'll be adding a few new novelties, thus mixing and matching from both sets wouldn't be possible if i changed my profile now. Fair question though!
I don't understand … can you please explain why you like it better for the keys I mentioned to be in R4 rather than R3? If they were R3, my thumbs wouldn't have to hit sharp corners on the Alt keys and my right middle finger wouldn't have to hurdle over one when it moves from the down arrow key to the up arrow key.
1. Round 2 of Jukebox must be fully integrated and swappable with the first one. I want the buyers that supported the first buy to be able to buy the new novelty packs and colors and be able to swap them out with their Round 1 set without having to buy a full new base set. This reason alone makes the sculpting set in stone. This is not something that will change.
2. I think the slightly upward sculpt is comfortable, more so than row 3. Other designers have felt the same as well. Sets like Round 5, Calm Depths, Commando, Penumbra, etc all have R4 as the bottom row. R4 is
MADE as a bottom row.
3. I think a bottom R3 looks a little dumb. Not a fan.
I feel like the reasons I gave before were pretty definitive, especially the swapping with sets. It's also a proven sculpting, I am not the only one here that likes it. Many really highly regarded sets have a similar/same sculpt.
