As i said GB starts somewhere an July on Massdrop.

Here is the final verion of the base kit:

- Approximate price range is 130-150$
- 3 custom colors (all 3 Carbon colors)
- Layouts: 60%, 75%, tkl, 100%, wkl, 1800 look a like and cluebord (leopold fc660)
- Rich colorway variety for a gmk keyset. For example, you can eliminate orange keys completely (say only beige and gray keys).
- Code keys instead of windows. I like it more os neutral and i hope you agree with me.

Here is the final version of novelties:

- expect a price range of 70-90$
- two custom colors (gray and orange from Carbon)
- this will be a separate drop
- added lambda key (HL3 confirmed  :)))

Just wait until the drop starts...Its just a month. Meanwhile you can rob a bank or steal some money from your granny, so you can participate in the drop.

T0mb3ry, I was never into SA Carbon much, but that GMK render... Holy mole...

What color is used for the alpha legends?

It's the same gray as the modifiers. There are only three colors. If you like i can describe how the colors look like in person. I think this will make it easier for you to make a decision.

No R3 or R4 blanks or Fn (I see the R4 Fn key now) key for 65% layouts? I guess it's not a huge deal. The renders look really nice. I'm getting super excited for the buy!

Sorry we are pretty limited for blanks. Anyway i think this variety is pretty generous. By the way there are always artisans or some fun keys you can buy as a replacements for blanks.

Will Orange alphas be an option for this drop?

Nope. As you can see there are no orange alphas. As i said its gmk and we are limited. This keyset offers already enough variety for a gmk keyset.

For the modifier pack, is it both r1 rows and the r3 row? If so, anyone want to split the mod pack? I only want 1 enter key (dont care which) and 1 complete row of the same color (dont care which).

Splitting the novelty pack will only make things worse regarding the moq.

It was stated this is what the final version will be.
I get the desire to vote for alternative options, but it's a little late for that tbh.

Just give T0mb3ry some rest pls, he has done an awesome job listening to the community's feedback, and made this a far more perfect set that we could have asked for...

Looking forward to this set so much!! the Base & Novelty kit are the greatest! :) (only missing the carbon periodical table key, but that's only a minor gripe. other than that this thing is perfect!) And yes, Code is better than Win Key ;)

Hi T0mb3ry, just wondering for the r2 1.5u Delete key, is there a reason why it's "Delete" not "Backspace" like most other kits?

Backspace wouldn't fit into that key. Afaik for this size there is only delete and icon available. I am against only icon because all the modifiers have words. This why i choose delete.

I wasnt asking him to split the modifier pack.... I was asking if anyone wanted to throw in on one. I have done nothing but praise this entire process and all hes done just trying to see if anyone wants to go in on the pack.

Since i posted it on DT i do it here too.

This is a comparison between recent enjoypbt keyset, which has offwhite alphas, and Carbon. Keep in mind its impossible to make 1:1 color photos because of light, camera, monitor etc. This is just for a small insight what to expect from carbon beige. Also you can see the gray legends on carbon key.

Just in case to avoid some drama, you have to admit there is no 1u backspace - as i think the 1u "del" is the same. If many of you disagree, then just let me know and with enough feedback i'll add 1u backspace.

Actually if it's possible, I'd like to request a row2 1.5u backspace, even with symbols, to keep it consistent with several other GMK sets

Pardon, there is a 1.5u delete key already available. GMK does not have 1.5u backspace key. It needs a new mold. There is also a 1.5u backspace icon which i dont want to be a part of this keyset, because its only icon.

Anyway its the final version and there will be no changes, besides that 1u backspace key probably.

Just want to keep things clear with all the people, who are interested in this drop.

Question here... how much different is the orange from the orange in the GMK Skidata+?

I would love an orange spacebar, but I don't want to be yet another person bugging you to change the kit. So would the orange space from Skidata+ be terribly different in color?

I have seen v2 color already in person.  Carbon orange is more darker shade. However i think you can easily use an orange spacebar from skidata+. Just avoid placing each shades side by side, else the difference will be very visible.

Here for approximate comparison. Do you see the orange clack in almost middle of the picture? On my monitor that would be the shade difference. In rl the V2 colors of skidata is much lighter than displayed in this picture.(note this picture belongs to Karura)

this set looks amazing!

Would you say the carbon beige for the alphas is a close match for the plastic used on a white HHKB?  If you happen to have a side-by-side of those colors, I'd be VERY interested in seeing it!

Till now i have seen only black(more grayish) hhkb in person. So i can't tell you exactly. However i have seen so many pictures of it and in my opinion the offwhite hhkb color leans more toward gray and blue colors. The Carbon beige has more yellow/brown accents. More like milk mixed with tiny portion of cacao powder? You cant call it white but neither brown or yellow. You see even in the pictures the colors are somehow not that correct...

Thanks for your hard work on this T0mb3ry. I've read the whole thread and am really excited to see how much you've been able to put into it, especially considering it's GMK. I don't know what it is, but the Carbon colorway is become a favorite of mine like nothing else I have yet seen in my relative newness to MKs. STILL kicking myself for not getting in on SA!

I'm especially thankful that you're including a second left shift, as I have a new FC660m on the way and when it comes to other cap sets, a lot of the time it seems to require buying multiple child kits to get that second shift. Terribly wasteful. I'm going to miss that elemental Carbon cap but I understand why it wasn't meant to be this time.

Looking forward to the July GB!

Hey thanks for the kind words and more so for the understanding the things/decisions i have done in particular way. I cant please everyone but i can at least try to please the majority and beyond.
I have to say, developing a GMK keyset is very different from the development of a SP keyset. Due to the limitations, set by high moq, its more about strategy and foreseeability than anything else. You have to guess demand and build up on it. Very risky.

Yeah i miss that carbon elemental key too. In my opinion its the best novelty of Carbon SA. Unfortunately due to the legends alignement this will not look as good as on SA profile. I am very picky in that case, it has to look perfect.

For the record, that is not GMK V2 Orange... And the lighting in that photo is very inaccurate, as I did not whitebalance it.

Didn't know it. However as i said V2 colors i much lighter. But afaik SKIDATA+ uses new plastic formula so i am wondering if there are any differences in shade. I saw pre formula change V2 color and i would call it very close if not even to OAV color from SP.

Anyway want to say Carbon orange is the darker shade compared to typical V2 color.

Waiting right now for my SKIDATA+ then i can tell the difference ;)
