DHL is actually really good to me generally (I live in Portugal), ever since MD started using them exclusively rather than USPS I hardly ever need to pay customs/wait forever to get my shipments. Probably has something to do with the packages getting "rebranded" in Germany upon entering the EU, our customs staff are definitely not the most inquisitive (read: hard working) bunch so I've been lucky thus far with all my hefty purchases throughout the entire year with DHL.

Meh, have been hit and miss for me. They added import fees to the ergodox mods but not to the novelties. I've also paid import fees on 1 out of 2 blank PBT sets from massdrop =P

(Let's hope they let this one through, like they did with the Overcast kits)

Weird, I wonder how they do this. Because I ordered within a few minutes of it going live and haven't received notification yet.

Oh well, I've waited this long already... can handle another week or so =)

I don't think that when you order has anything to do with the handling by logistics.  I could be wrong,  but I can't imagine the headache if they're trying to manage the order of ordering at time of fulfillment

Well, typically things like this are done by order number in my experience. And if were by locality, then Kenmai and I live in the same county and yet he got tracking and I did not.

So I'm just wondering how they actually do it.

It used to be ordered by order date, but at those times, they really took their time - now, they seem to be extremely robust, so I don't think they need to prioritise the shipments, they seem to send all packages in a short time span - so my assumption is, everyone will get their package shipped soon

you'll kick yourself when you'll see the 35% import fee
but i'm pretty confident because i'm lucky when coming to shipping duty fee.
Poste italiane handles the customs clearance and, in my experience, their fee is € 5,16 + VAT.

LOL

I know that not long the base kit dropped an people are starting to get there Caps in from MD but If Carbon GMK base kit, etc drops again. What are the chances the international kit tags along that? If Carbon drops again

Hmm, I was thinking that I would pick up the international set once it drops and then hope that MD would drop the base set (which I missed) again around Christmas/New Year. But now it sounds like I would better not do anything before the next drop? But then I might run the risk that an international add-on would not meet MOQ?

It's folly in this market to hold out on it. There's no indication of Carbon R2 being ran any time soon. If you want the set, get the international kit and pick up Carbon base kit on the aftermarket. Don't wait for R2 to drop because you will be left hanging for a long time
