CURRENT STATUS OF NIGHT MARKET: on hold since i haven't found a manufacturer that fits my needs and i've been working on other projects

Welcome to ePBT Night Market!

Let’s cut to the chase and show some renders:

Inspiration
ePBT Night Market was loosely inspired by the cool dark & meaty colours of Thai Night Markets and the night in general.

Kitting

Stand

The base kit. Alice & Split support in base (because i’m a split user myself

). Another weird thing - has media keys, in case you’re someone who likes those. Includes an extra tab, so if you get Sign, you can fit 2 boards.

Sign

Thai Alphas. Replaces the alphas of Base and Roof. Disclaimer: These legends will be tweaked for the final set to be more accurate, but this render will let you have a good idea of what it'll look like.

Poles

Spacebars. Includes dual 2.25 & 2.75 for boards such as the BMEK and SP-111

Roof

40s + Ortho kit.

Goods

Novelty kit based on various foods that can be found in the market. Includes iconography of common foods found at night markets.

Cooker

UKISO + Vim. Also includes F14 and F15 for some weird layouts.

Deskmats
These will have black borders and stitching, and will be available in 900mmx400mm.

Colours
Colours were chosen to be not too far apart from each other, yet still be different, to properly separate the alphas and the mods. Here you can see the difference between ePBT NM and similar colourways:

Colour matching is in progress, but currently I am not in possession of a Pantone Colour Bridge book. Find the album here.

FAQ
"ePBT doesn’t do reverse dyesub"
They do, but at the moment it isn’t stable enough for a full set. The GB will be after they confirm with me that it’s stable.
"Base kit is too big. it'll make it more expensive."
Since it's ePBT, it'll much cheaper than if a kit this size was run in a manufacturer such as GMK. As it stands, I'm aiming for a price around 110 USD.

I think many of the keys in the 40s kit are mislabeled. Many are labeled as 1.75u, but I think they are supposed to be 1.25u. Can you correct those labels?

I’d like to examine it with a closer eye to help out with the kitting!

Here is my feedback

Spacebars kit

This is a very large and very awkward spacebars kit. Nobody wants to purchase a spacebars kit this large for the one or two spacebars they need for their layout. Instead, I recommend moving the spacebars to their respective mods kits and changing this spacebars kits to be accent only (the pink color).
We can move the 40s bars into the 40s mods kit. 40s users will thank you for this! (see below)

40s kit

We need 40s specific spacebars in this kit. I recommend the following blue spacebar additions.

2x 2u
2x 1u
2x 1.75u
1x 2.25u
1x 2.75u
1x 1.25u

We can remove the R3 1u open up arrow (shift) key. This is not a common position for shift in any ortho or 40s board.
I recommend removing the R3 1.75u function key. Its a bit the odd duck given that most of the other mods are icon based instead of text based. Further, The R3 position is often the enter key on the right hand side.
In that same idea, I recommend using icons for the lower, raise, lock, esc, and ctrl keys. As is, the kit is split between text and icon mods. From experience, I can tell you that most 40s users prefer icon mods instead of text mods. The menu keys seems to fit the theme, so I understand leaving that one as text based.

Colors:

4146U and 4146UP are very similar colors. I understand the choosing colors is a highly personalized and selective process. I might encourage you to pick colors that are a tad more differentiable than these two
The U and UP color systems by Pantone are typically not for color-matching plastic, but for ink on paper. I'm not sure if it makes a huge difference, but it is more common to choose colors from Pantone's C color system.

I don't understand the incentive to have such a slight color difference between the mods and alphas. To me it looks like something went wrong during fabrication, or that you're merging two different keysets. I.e. it looks gettho imo. Hell, you might not even notice during suboptimal lighting conditions - which would defeat the purpose. I'd prefer for them to be the same color, or more differentiated. In any case I love to see more ePBT sets, and I appreciate the clean base kit. It's a nice looking theme, so good luck with your IC.

ditched some redundant keys.

Why do you offer 2x 1u spacebars in pink in the 40% kit? These are the only pink spacebars offered in this kit. I recommend dropping them. Is is far more popular to utilize the 2u spacebars in ortho anyway. (Though, keeping one pair of 1u spacebars is still a good idea).

I also noticed you changed the 40% kit to all text instead of icons. Any particular reason why? Icons are usually far more popular for 40%

thanks for replying! it'll be mostly icon, it's just that i'm kind of a noob at kle and don't know how to do icons within kle lol. rest assured they'll be icon as much as possible. i'll consider dropping the 2× 1u.

I like it! Would you consider running a Latin Alpha kit with Thai sublegends? I think that'd be very unique and set this truly apart from other sets.

This is a really lovely set. Glad that 3U space bars are being offered as well. I may be an outlier but wouldn't it be more consistent to offer one of the 3U space bars to be pink as well, seeing that there are pink and blue variations for the 2.75 and 2.25 space bars?
