Yeah I know the site but I meant if there was a place IN europe where I can buy them, because I have to pay imports and I have to go to the customs and waste a lot of time until I take my keyboard out of bond.

I would have no idea about storefronts in Europe unfortunately. Hopefully some of our EU buddies can chime in.

I don't think there's a place in Europe where they sell Ducky or Keycool. Only european sellers I know are keyboardco, qwerkeys and kbtrace.com.

the stl files on ergodox.org are created in inches or cm?

It's not a drawing so it shouldn't matter. Just change the units in your CAD program to whatever you're familiar with.

Perhaps more Scandinavia than Europe, but Teraset.net (Finland) carries Ducky.

Where can I buy a wire for cherry stabilizer online?

Mouser, see the OP.
yeah I know, but i mean just the wire, not the whole stabilizer.  I can't find any hobby shop near my location have the right thickness.  So I want to try it online.

Hobby stores should carry it. I think HobbyLobby and Menards carry it; at least from what I heard. Can't hurt to check the usual Home Depot/Lowes/Hardware store closest to you.

That board is the only one I still kind of wish I could get just to see if the wireless is worth it.

You can also do something similar with a phantom.

Does anyone have dimensions of The_Beast's poker plate? And the distance between the plate and pcb? I don't have a ruler and I couldn't find the answer through search.

Distance between top of the plate and top of the PCB -5mm

It'll be roughly between 285x95 and 300x100. Most likely closer to 285x95.

Yes. 300 inches would be around 25 ft. Pretty sure that's not the size of a PCB.

Alright, time to bust out a what I fear might be a noob question: Will a G80-1800 PCB fit inside a G81-1800 case?

And a related question: If it does fit, does anyone know if the leeku PCB from the current group buy thread will also fit a G81-1800 case?

2) And a related question: If it does fit, does anyone know if the leeku PCB from the current group buy thread will also fit a G81-1800 case?

1) At a glance? It looks like it should. But I'm just guessing. I'm not 100% sure

2) I know the PCB will to a G80-1800 case. I'm not sure if there are subtle differences between the G81-1800 and G80-1800 cases.

Hopefully inlikeflynn sees this. If not, I can PM him and ask.

Yeah I think the G80-1800 and G81-1800 cases are probably made from the same molds. Quite a few people find a nice, but well used G80, and swap it into a new G81 case.

I have a G81-1800LAAUS that I will try to use as a case for the leeku pcb then.

Quick question about switches.

For a given cherry-MX color, are there different switches qualities? I mean, are some red switches better than other for example?

Thanks

Yes, there may be differences between switches depending on the batch. They'll also feel different depending on the board and how its mounted (PCB vs Plate). For modern switches, it's a bit of a gamble. The quality control issues seem to mainly be with the clicky (Blue, Green, and White MX switches). For vintage or older switches, the QC seems to be better. Some people claim certain vintage switches feel different. YMMV.

I never realized they had a standoff but i found a picture from Photoelectric. I bet you could just order some plastic bushings and cut it down to size from McMasterCarr or a hardware store. I don't know the diameter though. And I wonder if you actually need them or if you could just put a bit of insulation, like plastic, between the LED and plate.

They are 5mm in diameter x 8mm in height. You can get 400 of them for $6.83 shipped, from Amazon.

Edit: I just ordered some, and I think they ship from China.

Those are Dolch caps. Looks like they're the original caps with a proper moogle or tsangan kit on the modifer row. Second picture is MMB's or Bro Caps. Not sure who owns the first. More information on the Dolch PAC Keyboard here.

Those are Dolch caps. Looks like they're the original caps with a proper moogle or tsangan kit on the modifer row. Second picture is MMB's or Bro Caps. Not sure who owns the first. More information on the Dolch PAC Keyboard here.

Thanks, that's what I thought :)

What exactly is a moogle kit? I've seen that word around here but never figured out what it exactly is.

Moogle kit - a kit with 1.25x mods and 6.25x spacebar for keycap sets that don't have them
Tsangan kit - a kit with 1.5x mods and 7x spacebar for keycap sets that don't have them

Original dolch only came with 1.5x mods, so you'll need a moogle kit for most keyboards. Alternatively buy the exact replica from originativeco (when he sells them) which comes with all keycaps for all layouts.

Photekq wanna help me out? Hunt down a picture of both and add them to that post? Gonna add it to the OP.

Oh ok. So is there a moogle kit for every keycap set? With the same legends / font / colour?

That depends on who organised the GB. Generally 1.25x mods with 6.25x spacebar are sold as standard mod set and a separate Tsangan set.

No. For most modern sets, they'll come in ANSI 1.25x. If you harvest say a Cherry G81-7000 for the keycaps, you'll notice the bottom row isn't 1.25x mods with 6.25x spacebar. Hence you'd need a moogle. Older sets like a WYSE or Dolch from a Dolch PAC didn't have 1.25x mods/6.25x spacebar.

Most GBs here are ANSI 1.25x which are the 1.25x mods/6.25x spacebar. A Tsangan is 1.5x mods/7x spacebar.

Isn't that what Dolch is? White on Grey Alphas with White on Black mods? Just called Dolch because that's the board the color scheme originally came from.
