Are there any instructions to soldering? Since its a universal pcb it would be nice. Don't want to screw it up.

Hi! I have a few questions:

1. Is the smokey gray-blue color an option for the acrylic? I see a sample picture on page 1, but it's not an option on the order form.
2. Does the 75% require special keycaps? It seems that it uses the large Iso enter key and other non-ANSI sized keys.
3. Do I need to use PCB mount switches? I have a set of plate-mount clear switches waiting to be used, so it would be nice if I could use plate mounting.
4. Do I choose three layer of acrylic case colors for model 3?
5. Where do I specify if I want model 1, 2, or 3?

Thank you, and I hope I'm not too late to order!

Yes, it's available. Mention "Charcoal Gray" in the textbox.
2. Does the 75% require special keycaps? It seems that it uses the large Iso enter key and other non-ANSI sized keys.
Nope. Sprit's 75% board supports both ANSI & ISO. That's why the plate has both the cut outs. :). You'll just need to source a couple extra 1u keys to fill the right side. (Some people use numpad keys).
3. Do I need to use PCB mount switches? I have a set of plate-mount clear switches waiting to be used, so it would be nice if I could use plate mounting.
PCB and Plate mounted switches both work on Sprit's Face W PCB! Just be sure to have a plate of some sort if you use plate mounted switches! Stabs are PCB mount by default.
4. Do I choose three layer of acrylic case colors for model 3?
Model 3 is a two layered case.
5. Where do I specify if I want model 1, 2, or 3?

Stab orders ($8 USD) come with the necessary wires & plastic inserts. Each set contains 4x 2unit stabs (enter, shifts, backspace) and 1x 6.25unit spacebar stab. If you want a 7unit stab wire, it'll be $1 extra.

Would you recommend getting extra sets? It seems like some people broke theirs in the process of assembly.

Do we also get SIP and stickers with this buy, or is that from different group buys?

It's not necessary as long as you know which way the wire goes. If you'd like some extra just for re-assurance, then I don't see why not. :)

I'll actually be providing SIP sockets soonTM, and stickers can be arranged with Sprit, depending on demand.

umm, there's a video by bluebear that shows how to clip the stabs.
he also shows how to insert the stab wires. I've clipped my stabs and so far they're holding up pretty well.
Just be careful.  :D

Since this multiple question thing seems to work, I'll give it a go.

1. Can I just procure a plate of my own or make one that will fit on this 60% pcb? Are there any special requirements for size or thickness?  I'm guessing just 1.6mm?
2.  So if I use a plate with this I should get cherry plate mounted stabs from that Ivan group buy, not the costar ones from WASD? And those come with the springs and everything I don't need anything else?

1. Yes, if you have some appropriate CAD files. Thickness should be 1.6mm, correct.
2. You can get PCB mounted Cherry stabs from this GB or Plate mounted Cherry stabs from Ivans GB, but Costars stabs only if you have a plate that can use Costar stabs. Stabs don't have springs, both GBs provide all parts need afaik.

Just one quick question before I fire this thing up. Does it matter which direction the diodes and resistors face?
I've checked the build logs of others and followed their lead. Just want to make sure.

Just one quick question before I fire this thing up. Does it matter which direction the diodes and resistors face?
I've checked the build logs of others and followed their lead. Just want to make sure.

Here's a picture

Resistors.  No, they can go either way.

Diodes.  YES, you must put them on in the correct orientation.  It 'looks' like you have put them on correctly, but you should be following the silk screen on the PCB to be sure...

I've put the arrow towards the black line on the diodes. They are tricky though because a few face a different direction.

I believe all three of those you posted are upside down, flip them if you can.  :thumb:

Just plugged it in to my laptop and I think the computer thinks it's a mouse because when it's plugged in the mouse is not working at all.

A button and space are unresponsive. The rest seen to work. Might be faulty switches?

Could someone kindly explain the MOQ on the order form. I want to purchase the items to make a complete 60% keyboard w/ case. Is that MOQ for the group buy or individual? Thank You

Resolder the unresponsive switches - faulty switches are unlikely. Not sure why your mouse doesn't work, try a reboot?

Clearly every person who wants to join the GB needs to purchase at least 100 PCBs :P
Edit: Since you're new here, sorry for joking. At least 100 overall orders for the PCBs for example are needed to get to the MOQ and for you to get a PCB.

Tried resoldering both switches. no go :/
Will try and change them out and see if that helps.
Mouse works at login screen but stops working once I login.

I don't mind the joking, no harm done. Thank you for at least responding, even with the witty humour.  :p
