I'm going to have to keep my eye out for this as Chicago is practically in my back yard. What should I bring? Never been to one of these before.

why does my samurai sound like Japanese Batman?
What about May 16-17? Or the next weekend, which is Memorial Day weekend? Of course traveling on Memorial Day weekend is generally awful.
so a few of us have talked and we are now floating the weekend of may 16-17. it will definitely be in the city, but we're not sure where yet. how does this sound to people?a bit of a roll call would be nice. holler if you'd like to go and can make that weekend, or if you'd like to go and can't make that weekend.if you don't want to go then i guess
Pls stahp.
I'll be there barring unexpected work or family conflicts.
Also won't have any money to get to Keycon.
Would it be considered "worth" to fly in from Sweden for this? Someone mentioned food...
smart people at most, and lots of keyboards.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
I've read through most of this thread and several links in the keycon archive; what exactly is Keycon? Is it just a GH get together? Demos, classes, trading, selling? Is there an itinerary? Basically what would I be getting myself in to?

Basically what would I be getting myself in to?Check out the archived events subforums for Keycon 2013 and Keycon 2014 (organization, live-posting, media). This should give you an idea of what goes down at the events. You should expect keyboards, friends, food, kendama, presentations, and other geekiness. There will be a rough itinerary put together with slots for the various presentations and food, but a lot of the time will be meeting people and talking. And eating. Expect much ice cream.

However, I'd be willing to skip the anal probing of first-time attendees this year, tbh. Dunno what that has to do with keyboards. But hey, I guess it wouldn't be Keycon without at least a little anal probing, amirite?
Just putting this out again. There are roughly 2-3 spots open at my house for people to crash if they want. Maybe more if people don't mind couches. Just ask and I'll add you to the dibs list and contact you through PM as the event approaches.

I'd like to judge the interest, so far it's just you and CPT.

Now the real question... how many keyboards can I fit in my car.
I'm pretty sure I could drive there for a weekend trip, I'm just glad it's something semi close to me. I'll probably do a hotel unless I find somewhere else to stay. Now the real question... how many keyboards can I fit in my car.

jcrouse's stack was insane @.@. He must have made like 6 trips to get all his boards upstairs.
