I caved in and bought, I don't what I was thinking trying to delay playing a game that I've been waiting 7 years for. Fallout series is by far my favorite RPGs. My download speed is hovering around 7.3 mb/s, that's not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

It finished transferring and updating last night once I got home but I was so tired I just went to bed. Now I need to finish doing a switch swap for a friend on his BlackWidow (which is the worst experience I've had btw) before I can even think about playing

I'm already over 20%, I have a physics exam at 1:00-3:05 so hopefully once I get back it should be ready to play! I should be studying for calculus afterwards but I need a break too.

Target's a 25 minute drive my college, I don't think it worth it for a chance to get a Quantum. I'd really like to try and get some though, it'll probably be on eBay for like $100 a bottle.

For those who still haven't started, here's a list of all the spoken in-game names. Name your character any of these and some NPCs will call you by name... Princess Titties ****face.

Definitely PC. That way after I finish the game, mods should be starting to roll out!  ;)

PC for sure, even with mods coming to consoles the graphical tweaking that you can do on PC with ENB and high resolution texture packs will make the game look stunning as they did for skyrim.

Ooh very nice, what resolution are you playing on? I got my laptop hooked up to a 1440p monitor at college. I'm pretty sure laptop will be able to handle it since it has SLI Geforce 965M and i7-5700HQ.

Sounds great, nothing's better than playing at 60 FPS. I still haven't loaded up the game up, I don't know what I'm waiting. :p

I'm hovering around 45 fps or so on complete max settings 2560x1440p, I'm going to turn it down some but it should be fine if I use my laptop display since it has G-sync. I just like playing a 27" much better than a 15.6".

Was anyone lucky enough to snag a PB edition and wanna post pics??

Been using the Pip Boy app, got to say it's pretty awesome but completely superfluous. Having it on your arm would be sooooo cool though

Still have zero patience for the scraping and building stuff. I HATE crafting games, so all the crafting mechanics in this seem a bit daunting.

Also, si anyone else getting this weird UI issue where the screen makes a window inside the main screen when you talk to people or are in power armor? Is it supposed to cut off like 1/8 of the left and bottom of the screen like that, because it looks like a bug but I honestly am not sure.

Yeah the base building idea seems cool but the concept seems a bit confusing in game. I think I will put some more hours into the game before I learn how to do that stuff.

Haven't had that bug yet.

My crossfired 290s (both overclocked and underwater) struggle to get a consistent 60fps at 1440p on ultra settings. Might have to turn some stuff down *tears*

So tempted to buy a pair of 980 Tis

Yeah theoretically - crossfire sometimes has problems though and I wouldn't be surprised if the optimisation for amd was terrible

No Nuka Cola at my Target either :(

asdfjkl36, don't feel bad, I will probably get the same result and I haven't even installed it yet. Or downloaded after the install. At least you can play :)

My next computer build that I was planning for was an sli 980 ti with an i7 4790k with custom watercooling but then I spent all money saved on computers for keyboards haha. I've been kind of pushing it back for better DDR4 boards to come out.

I ended up putting the settings on High and my laptop handles it fine for 1440p 27", when I play on my laptops 15.6" 3k display and g-sync then ultra settings is amazing, I'm getting about 30 fps but it feels like 60 with g-sync.

So...it's PIP BOY PICTURE TIME!

More

Some photos of the case itself:

Top:

Front:

Back:

It is quite tall, about 1/2 of my mini-fridge's height:

Just press the 2 tabs on the front to open the case upwards. Here's what you see inside:

Everything on the top half:

I have no idea what the "Season Pass" is. But there's a neat poster inside too:

There IS actually content on the Fallout 4 disc...unlike MGS V

Ok...so what you have been waiting for...the Pip Boy itself!

It may be plasticky, but it's very high quality. All the dials work, and the latches are made with real metal. It is quite superb.

A look at opening the pip-boy to insert your phone:

I tried to use the GS4 foam insert on my HTC One M8...

It did NOT fit :(

Me wearing the Pip Boy:

All ready to go, diet included :D

All in all, even if my smartphone doesn't fit, it is still an INSANELY COOL collectible. Probably not worth eBay scalper prices, but as far as gimmicky collectibles go, I am impressed. Now to just have the game finish updating...

Picked up two sets of Power Armor by the end of the Museum.  Now I have two Miniguns, a Fat Man, and a nuke for the Fat Man.  It's pretty funny to get some basically OP stuff right off the bat and then see a bunch of weak stuff at the same time.  And Deathclaws are scary this go around.  Like ridiculously crazy based off the first one I faced.

I've got a Dell Ultrasharp 24" and a Radeon R9 200. Playing 60 FPS at 1920x1080. Feels great :D

Which 200 series card to you have? I have an R9 280 and I've been curious as to whether or not I could get 60 fps on highest settings.

Torrented it.
Found your problem, when's the last time a torrent worked for a new game. I remember people putting up file bombs and saying it was GTA V torrent.

Well, they did actually purchase and ended up with a number of problems. Though, a complete uninstall should have been performed (no idea if this was done).

I also had major issues installing on my WD Blue drive, as in the game would not load, then went to the main menu, then quit. I uninstalled after attempting a number of GPU fixes (thinking this was the problem), installed on my main SSD and am now playing happily on High w/60fps at 1080p on my GTX 760.
