Girls. Amirite?
« on: Thu, 16 February 2017, 20:14:58 »
So this is a bit of an interesting situation to me. So we broke up back in October, kind of was a break but no mas.

Anyway, we go to the same school now that I transferred(So happy I left a community college). Now I'll see my ex once in a while, I'll talk to her but I don't usually put effort into conversation. Sometimes if we're taking the bus together by chance going back to the North campus.

Now what I'm trying to understand is why in hell does she keep bringing up any people after me? We were walking because I'm new to this campus, walking past a hill "I made out with a guy here". Before this she's told me was her FWB, that she caught feelings for him, and like 3 other flings/hookups.

So why is this a thing where I know about an exes dating/sex life after we break up?

Missing a lot of context and info about personalities, so this is just just a wild guess, but I'd lean towards thinking that she's nervous about the possibility that you would like to rekindle something, and is trying to signal that she doesn't want to.

Well I mean she doesn't want a relationship and it's obvious, and I don't one with her again. We broke up her saying she needed space to find herself. She's changed so I'm good on my own if I had a choice to go back.

I could be dead wrong. There are a lot of possible explanations.

Everyone is, to some extent, a bundle of conflicting motivations, and a large number of people really suck at turning those into cohesive thoughts even to themselves,  and thus are absolutely terrible at communicating what's going on to others[1]. I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way, but in school, that's especially true - age and experience, new responsibilities, pressures from lots of different directions - there's a ton going on.

All that just to say, she may not even know what she's trying to communicate. I had one relationship that confused the hell out of me. The woman was conflicted, so we cycled from "together" to not returning calls. I eventually ended it, but until about a year later, I thought she had been ****ing with me to amuse herself. Then I talked to one of her friends who explained she was just kinda of screwed up about these things.

One thing I do now about these things is try to accept that a lot of the time, I'm simply never going to know what's Really Going On(tm) with someone else. It is irritating, but accepting that you can neither predict nor reverse-engineer someone's words or actions has the advantage of being accurate. And sometimes, it can be a lot of fun.

[1] I am not a psychologist, etc.

Sounds like over the top 'friend-zone' talk. You're right, though. I will never understand women.

She's probably seen your penis and was not impressed at all, nothing wrong with that.  Friendship is code word for that type of rejection and still applied to all those who fail to meet her expectations.

Most women now want to see a guy's 'tackle' as soon as possible even if it's through tight pants just so she can gauge the level of punishment she might enjoy  8) .

Does she usually talk a lot, some people that talk a lot just say what is on their mind without any filter. Is she immature, because that kinda sounds like immaturity also. Maybe she trying to make you jealous to feed her ego. Maybe she wants to see if you also made out with a guy over there. Maybe she wants a GBF but can't find one so your her target.

I would have told her I chocked a guy in the ass over there also, what a coincidence maybe its the same guy.

Maybe you shouldn't think too hard into it I mean she is an ex and you don't intend on getting back together. Don't waste time on people you only communicate with because you feel obligated. Unless she introduces you to her friends, she is useless to you (sounding a bit tp now).

Seems pretty straightforward..

She's putting that information out there,  such that if there IS prospect of a re-constituted relationship with Hunterangel121,  there would be no --if ,  but , or  how many--

Regardless of you or she says or believes..  the Above is the only practical application of the course of events.. IF NOT for that, then she's a loon, and her actions are pointless..

I mean, she's talkative but I think she's immature now. I'm cutting her out on any outlet she tries to contact me because it's the same annoying **** of her trying to talk.

I believe her actions are pointless to be honest. I think she's just trying to fill in quiet space. After the breakup we met up a month later to settle what we are. We both mentioned seeing other people during that time. But I didn't go in depth with who.

Makes for a great story. But bike stands are not ergonomic. A tree on a hill sounds better. Be like "that branch right there is where I found out she likes nipple play"

She's either just being mean or wants to make you jealous and force some kind of action...  Doesn't really matter why, it's not good for you, so just break off contact for a while, if not forever.  The reason will reveal itself.  The Beastie Boys express their feeling about girls:

I got to a college with very few students. You kinda have to outsource because you see the same people so often.

You can always tell who slept with who because of the way they side eye each other in the dining hall.

You guys are really encouraging chicks to frequent this forum.
Cognitive distortions are patterns of thought, typically automatic and unconscious, that cause an inaccurate, negative view of situations, people, and/or events. These include things like jumping to conclusions; black-and-white thinking; negative mental filtering; overgeneralizing; mindreading (incorrectly believing we know what others are thinking, what their motives are); and emotional reasoning (believing that if we are feeling something, or if what we are thinking is associated with a strong emotion, it must be true).

It's a problem that we don't have females at the geekhack..  probably due to the fact that there are no female mods..

So, the femalez would potentially be overwhelmed by the chauvinistic tendencies of a male prevalent forum. Therefore, they just read without commenting..

For example.. say anything remotely anti-feminist on huffington-post,  your comment instantly gets deleted..

They got female mods.. making them a safe place for fem-centric discussions..

She has seen my penis, relationship lasted a year.

A year with one Chick, what's wrong with you?

When I was your age the longest relationship lasted two or maybe three months tops, before you move onto the next one.  NEVER waste your valuable time on just one of them because you are in the prime of your life and being tied down to one idiot bird is going to choke your pecker and rob you of immense delights and experiences.

Let loose and enjoy what campus life provides because as you get older, you then become an old, sad perve but when you're young, everyone sees you as just horny and being normal.

Life passes you by so quickly so stop wasting time thinking about her, only think about the next snatch that you'll rip apart on Saturday Night  :thumb: .

Sounds to me like she wants you to feel jealously for her. I'll openly admit I haven't had too many relationships, but I've seen this before with a few of my close friends. In my experience, it was never the intent of person-A to show person-B they are completely over the relationship and have moved on with their life. In fact, 100% of the time this 'show-off' of relationship status was an attempt to get person-B to make an attempt to get back into person-A's life in a romantic way; or at least to show interest.

Psychologically, she may be feeling needy for attention and could very well be having a hard time finding someone to fully replace the feelings that you gave her. However, this is just my opinion.

Years of experience sunshine, never allow old men here on this forum site otherwise the level and tone shall not be what you would expect  8) .

We haven't got time to waste anymore hence honesty is the best policy here when it comes to dealing with the feminine persuasion, that is most intriguing yet so frustrating at the same time.

IDK man.. would you feel jealous from hearing that ?   Maybe if she said,  everyone of the guys who she's recently --been with-- also gave her a mechanical keyboard..

But sans the keyboard gifts..  Is Jealousy really the reaction which would follow such expositions

But sans the keyboard gifts..  Is Jealousy really the reaction which would follow such expositions

I've never understood it myself... if you want to make a guy jealous, just talk about your clackvent winnings.

But really, I don't understand it why some people do this; talking to their ex's about their recent relationships. Just through my observations it seems to me the purpose is not necessary just to make the other person feel jealous, but to make them feel... I don't know envious(?) for new person in their life. Perhaps it's just a mechanism some people use in attempt to reassure their ex that they're doing well without them?

I don't know, relationships are strange. Keyboards are much more straight-forward.

It's in the male tradition to boast..

?? ??

i think hes still boasting... but about having one foot in the grave or something.

I'd call that a "friend-zone" area of conversation, as she's comfortable enough around you to talk about her dealings in her own realm.  It's not really a bad thing but she is poking for a some form a rise from you as well.  In the end it's just meaningless chatter, which if done right can end with benefitting you as well.  But I would only see her as a fling when I would need one and a well of information about who else is eligible.   It's college, have fun and don't catch anything.

talking to their ex's about their recent relationships.

Frankly, I would be absolutely delighted if my ex-wife got a boyfriend.

No, I am genuinely concerned with her well-being. She does not impact my life very much at all anymore.

Nov '19 was the last time I was even around a woman.
