Keeb was created by slang noobs.
How about something more creative like a swink (switch plank) or conar (contact array) or, or an ybo (pronounced eeboe and guess where I got that from).

At least "apps for applications (and "progs" for programs) predates the current meaning, which I think is "some insidious system designed to relieve you of your money and information without you noticing"

you spend hundreds of dollars on a nice keyboard and then find a way to try and type fewer letters on it

It's gotten MUCH worse since then! I regularly clock people saying it three times in the same sentence.

We kind of have an equivalent in Danish that people sometimes overuse during conversations. It's not enough to drive me bonkers but some people almost don't say anything else and that does get annoying.

Picked that awful habit from American roommates. I still cringe every time I think a sentence with any like it and try to stall and work my way around that if I can.

I find the use of 'listen' to begin a sentence the height of rudeness.
We are having a conversation which already means that I am listening!  Just because you were raised by socially inept siblings doesn't mean everyone else you converse with is the same!

Ok, since we're venting all words and not only concentrating on keebs, I wanna address how much it annoys me how some pronounce the letter H. It's a soft letter, I don't know where people got the idea to emphasise the H like Stewie saying cool whip.

ok, point taken. but as the article mentions, it started to merge in the 13th century and by the 18th it was fully accepted / merged in educated speech too... sooo, the fact that we're using keyboards as an interface to directly communicate with each other indicates to me, that we're at least in the 20th century. My point still stands...

No I get it, but it still annoys me since that's not how I learned it at school and thusly just sounds off to me. (But that's just my opinion)

I have never used that word and this is the first time I have seen mention of it. I frequent keyboard stuff a lot too, maybe I am not as addicted as others or have been spared of such word usage? I wouldn't use it myself don't like how it sounds but that's just me.

Here's a novel idea: we're typists. We ostensibly enjoy typing. "Keyboard" shouldn't take meaningfully longer for us to type. Even in speech, it's one thing to use exclusive jargon when you're getting deeper in. Putting it right up front, referring to the very name of our hobby's object with a made-up in word is idiotic. Particularly a made-up word as stupid as "keeb."

Grammarly has problems but it's better than Chrome's dictionary recommendations
