Just to ask, who owns the trademark for orange? And also that doesn't look like one, atleast size is off...

I own a typewriter (brother CE-650) with tripple shot keys plus windows in some keys (Cherry double shots look thin against these, BTW).

But as long as we did not find another source (would be pleased to find one here in Germany or at least somewhere in Europe), we have to stick to SP.

There are 4 options:
- Blanks with each key differently shaped window.
- Pad printing on top with somehow shaped window.
- Pad printing on the front with somehow shaped window.
- Regular double shots with home made hole in the front.

Now you GHers (mainly Moogle) may decide!

Well i wouldn't have minded the bottom rectangled window, but seeing as they can't do doubleshot for that, then not much point for me :/

So i'll pass on that. I'll try consult clickclack what he can do since he is a triple/quadrople shot specialist.

I am still interested regarding the left aligned Function keys with the loud , pause, play etc etc thingys though in doubleshot for the same layout/color as Mo1.

I'm disappointed myself about this outcome. I had hoped they would make the windows like Cherry does, or at least be able to do them with double shot labeling.

I will upload the Ducky kit as soon as possible.

Yes I magnified it. It's so damn difficult to get the real color of the key into a picture. It is a more cold orange. It looks as if it is a real orange, but it is a bit colder, lighter than the fruit next to the key (that round thinghy, you know).

PS: Yes, I know these are called differently. Just call it a mini orange.

I'm just waiting for a response from SP about symbols for the Ducky keyboard. But I'm afraid, these will cost the same as Awesome face et al.

Yours will not be an exception. Symbols are OK, but will cost extra, except for the Windows flag and that diamond key from round 1, or arrows etc.

I'd also like to know about Awesome/Reddit volume pricing (100 units each).  At $4 a key that seems high.

Is that what the Geekhack Red and Orange key ran?

Pricing is for 25 keys.

I wait for response.

I've got the drawings 90% ready and will send them off today.

Her answer was a bit sideways. She said, yes they have different spacebars, did not answer if it is possible to adjust the key mounts and nope there wiill be no spacebar for those older Cherry keyboards, but maybe a spacebar which is a bit shorter.

I send her the drawings with all measures and hope they find a way to make all of these ...

Please verify if these are the spacebars we need:

The spacebar for old G80-3000 seems to be covered by the MX-11800.

Please tell me if there are any spacebrs not covered by these.

PS: Filco/current Cherry G80-3000 are well-known and already part of the Standard kit.

The $35.31 are for 61 keys.

$45 for 104 plus the 2 extra single sized keys, necessary for ISO-layout.

Not too bad, in my opinion.

But interesting to see, that they would even produce 5 keys....

7Bit, are those symbols a done deal on F1-F3.  I know on almost all mac keyboards, volume up is on F12, volume down is F11, and mute is on F10. Since F keys F9-F10 don't have anything printed on them in the an-alphabetics kit, could those be swapped? If not, no biggy, just wanted to know.

Edit: Actually, instead, to keep it like the set implies, remove the F1, F2, F3, etc. characters from the function keys and just keep the symbols. That would also allow anyone to place those media keys in any top row key position.

I'd pick the more rounded options.  The one from the first buy is sharper than most.

Signature is the gray one in the middle.
Show Image

That about the spacebar for older Cherry G80-3000 was a false info (typo in the measures).

The one from round 1 is well known and we don't need to take care of that.

I thought about taking a spacebar from SA-family:

This one should be round enough.

What do you think, should I include it as an option?

Update: Just got an info from SP that they have the tools to make a spacebar which fits the leopods, except that the mounts are at a fixed distance.

This means: glue the mount do the spacebar by yourself or just forget about the Leopold.

Same for the space bar for old Cherry keyboards...

Exaclty!

It is very disappointing. I was quite sure they can't make the Leopold spacebar. But I thought they had the tools to make the one for the older Cherry boards.

Wait a minute, news from SP ....

... maybe she has at least a spacebar for the old Cherries.

Maybe there is a shorter spacebar which would fit the Leopold....

Just need to wait for confirmation....

Can't really be the case, since the original Korean order that our order was cloned after, included old-style Cherry spacebars. I'm starting to believe SP is like Cherry and does not know about their own inventory.

I think the problem are measure tolerances:

The genuine spacebar is 133mm long (measured by myseld up to 1mm accuracy) and ClickClack measured his at 131.6.

I think he gave the inside measure, or it is really shorter.

SP said, nope 131.6mm not available.
Grrrr!

Now she has got a 133mm one wiith hopefully adjustable keymounts.

BTW: Do you know if it would be a problme if the Leopold spacebar is shorter than 118mm and longer than 98mm?

F1 to F12: yes, counts as text!
I will ask her if mute etc are available, too.

I did these for Moogle's Ducky keyboard. So I would add your suggestion as well.

The symbols in the 2nd row are not text (ie same as awesome face et al.). Have no confirmation yet about diamond, square, circle, trianlge, but could be text too.

We can always go with extra bigger ALT keys, eh? Kidding, of course.

Yeah, I'm still at the office. I usually stay here till about midnight to take care of my internet addiction. Since T-Online still did not manage to get my connection back online again at home after they put me to VDSL, which is not available, resulting in my net being offline since about 1.5 months or so now. So to make the long story short... are old-style (no-Windows keys) Cherry spacebars available or not? I read the last two pages and I'm still not certain.

The Korean set had them, SP can make them. They should be available.

They said first no, not available (just because her spacebar was 1.4mm longer than the measures I gave her) and now yes they are available. She is looking for a solution (shorter spacebar) for the Leopold keyboards.

I can't send you a PM at the moment, OfficeScan keeps blocking the private.php page...

If I don't want the whole orange gamer set, is there a W,A,S,D set with or without arrows printed on the side?

If I vote:
STANDARD 1
DE 1
ONEHALFMOD 1
ORANGE 1
SPACEGREY 0
SPACEOLDGREY 1

Will that cover my old G80-1800?

On the side note, I'm surprised nobody requested diff. color modifiers. For example, RED modifier keys would look great on a black keyboard.

Cheers
SainT

7Bit, are those symbols a done deal on F1-F3.  I know on almost all mac keyboards, volume up is on F12, volume down is F11, and mute is on F10. Since F keys F9-F10 don't have anything printed on them in the an-alphabetics kit, could those be swapped? If not, no biggy, just wanted to know.

Edit: Actually, instead, to keep it like the set implies, remove the F1, F2, F3, etc. characters from the function keys and just keep the symbols. That would also allow anyone to place those media keys in any top row key position.

Symbols kit is available @ $10:

Symbols kit
  • function-row media buttons for the Ducky.
  • media buttons for apple users, with and without F1-F12 labels, all for top rows.
  • diamond, square, circle, triangle, all for top rows.
  • ... and some more symbol-keys, where the symbols count as text.

I will provide a layout scheme as soon as possible.

Hmm, I am still undecided whether or not to buy these keys.
Are "Nordic Language kit" and "Language kit" two separate kits now? Am I reading it right that Standard + Nordic + shipping is (if I add a Nordic):
50 + 14*25/9 + 14 = $103

Thanks for your patience with my confused mind.

You read the statistics, right?
Code: [Select]

UK..........................7 (Language kit) ($7)
DE..........................6 (Nordic Language kit) ($14)
FI..........................3 (Nordic Language kit) ($14)
SE..........................1 (Nordic Language kit) ($14)
NORDIC....................... (Nordic Language kit) ($14)
AT........................... (Nordic Language kit) ($14)
DK........................... (Nordic Language kit) ($14)
NO........................... (Nordic Language kit) ($14)
ES..........................2 (Language kit) ($10)
NL........................... (Language kit) ($12)
FR..........................1 (Language kit) ($13)
COLEMAK....................12 (Language kit) ($5)
DVORAK......................3 (Language kit) ($8)

50 + 14*25/9 + 14 = $103
The 14*25/9 are not the price if only 9 are produced, because lower quantities cost not that much higher.

Also, the $ is not so expansive;-)

Twitchy dug out this pricelist from the Lowpoly's mini-guru-thread:
Quote

Pricing is as follows:
2-shot keyset:
5 sets $211.50 / set
10 sets $116.03 / set
15 sets $86.62 / set
20 sets $71.92 / set
25 sets $63.09 / set
50 sets $45.44 / set
100 sets $36.62 / set

This was for a 61 key (60%) layout.

14/63.09*116.03 = 25.747661980
around $25 per set of 10 produced.
against 14*25/10 = 35

Not too bad.

Not taking into account that some keys cost more than others, it seems to work out at around $14.46 setup cost plus $0.46 per key, for each key variant.

So it's that setup cost that needs to be shared around. But on fewer than 10 sets it looks like there's a little extra 'hassle' fee!

For the 61 key sets...

no Leopold spacebar

Definitive no to the Leopold spacebar.

They don't have any spacebar tool (not even from a different family) that has got adjustable mounts, smaller than 7 units, and none that would fit right away.

red key with black trollface is my vote on the colors, they look very good on a black keyboard imo

Cherry Corp was 34 Euro for 104 default key sets, double shot if you ordered 300. That price is from 2008.
